I reckon you can't go past roast lamb on white with cheese, tomato & lettuce. Eaten on the run on the combine.

Peameal bacon and cheese on a big crusty bun, daub of mustard..favourite tractor show fare around these parts..church groups do a good job at these events

I think my top 3 would be a hot pastrami and swiss that I got from a roach coach in Anaheim, a cold pastrami and swiss from a deli in Sacramento and a grilled crab and cheese from a little diner somewhere out near the Washington coast.

I love a good sammy.

To me it's all about fresh bread. I'm pretty partial to a tuna fish with fresh apples, crushed pecans, just a few pickle chunks and whatever else my little lady throws in there.

Tonight and every Wednesday is our "quick and easy" supper night.

kinda toss-up between liverwurst and sweet pickle chips ...or... avocado with alfalfa sprouts; bread generously slathered with real mayonnaise. And all I gotts is cornflakes and no milk (frown) .......Dell

Good old thick crispy bacon cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese and mayo on a sesame seed bun toasted. Good for the belly, not for the veins.

Well that did it! I'm heading for lunch!

I guess with the moderators here, This is the kind of SAFE and exciting thing we can talk about, without getting POOOFED. BLT w/mayo for me.
Jack

Well, it started with a BLT and the next time there was no tomato and then no lettuce. So, a few slabs of bacon on toast with a bit of mayo and a glass of moo juice...and I'm good to go...usually in the weather we been having...to the couch. ohfred

Gyro sandwich (lamb on pita bread with dill sauce) or ruben sandwich (pastromi on rye bread with sauerkraut, both are both great.

Larry peameal is a flour made from dried peas that the strap of bacon is rolled in,gives a yellow coloured crust on the bacon, usually cut thick and is very much like a small ham slice with a bit of rind and the yellow crust..very flavourfull!

Subway- Honey Oat bread, sweet onion chicken terriauki, non-toasted, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, sweet onion sauce.

That's good sandwich material.

In the summer BLT with veggies from garden. In the cold weather a good old fashioned reuben heaping with sauerkraut dressed with spicy brown mustard
Chuck

More of a herbs and cheese man myself. Usually take a Subway Melt if I don't get a sweet onion chicken teriyaki.

I had my first taste of pastrami and swiss from a roach coach in San Gabriel, CA in 1967. Uncle Al ran one of those trucks, we were visiting for a couple of weeks. Used to wait for him to come home in the early afternoon. Grab a sandwich from one side, go to the other for the ice cold orange juice. Don't think I've ever had one quite as tasty.

I really like a fried crappie fillet sandwich on wheat w/honey mustard. Mark.

I'm not too hard to please. Any kind of cold meat - pork, chicken or roast beef. Not some kind of thin shaved loaf from the deli mind you. It's gotta be home cooked.
On good bread! Like vienna bread made with a high gluten flour.
A little butter, some lettuce or sometimes cabbage and of course some horse raddish.
Those are the sandwiches that make you glad to go to work - so you can eat them come lunch time.

Our favorite place is over in Mesa Az,about a 35 mile drive to JT's Gyro and fresh cut french fries. He has the best I've ever found and I have had Gyro's in Ill. Ind. and Colorado.I really like them,go there about every other week.Supper tonite is Johnsonville Sausages on Chibatta Bread with Hash Browns, fresh sliced Tomatos. Our Tomatos come from a green house farm called Eurofarm at Wilcox Az. Almost as good as home grown.

I like most any kinds of sammiches.

Now My second wife introduced me to one I never heard of, as she brought it in I ask what kind ?

Peanut butter and sweet pickle--- I know sounds yucky -- don't knock it till ya try it .

Old Roy,
I eat them alot on the road .. put the pickels in a container till ready to eat .. then put the pickles on and eat ...
had these when I was a kid and my wife thought I was crazy ..
still like them ...

I thought I was the only one ... Mark

I fry a 1/4" slice of ham and split and fry two cheapest hot dog I can find. Toast two slices of bread & butter them, put a little mustard and some dill pickle slices on it and put the meat on it and enjoy. Dan

You guys are killing me !! Had a Lap Band nearly a year ago (due to high blood pressure and arthritis) and can"t eat sammies...but all the stories bring back a wantin" !!
