Are we ever going to get warmer weather? Or are we going to have a much cooler than normal summer? I know no one knows for sure, but I am beginning to wonder.......Here in Western, Pa it just seems too cold for this time of the year.

I caught a quick glimpse of the temperature map on the Weather Channel yesterday and it looks like the Northeast is about 20 degrees below normal at this time.

Iwas in pa yesterday afternoon ,and it was windy and cold ,the top of the ground in the garden was frozen, its time to plant peas? Whats going on?

Still got 4 to 6 inches of hard crunchy underfoot here, after several nice sunny, but cold days. Walked on top of it this morning, but when I loaded up with two 5 gallon buckets of water to carry out to the sheep, I broke through with most every step. doesn"t seem to be getting anywhere with the melting process.

We"ve got our contract sheep shearer coming early next week. We may have some cold, nekked sheep!

For the upper midwest, it will stay cool with below normal temps on average into early June.

The NOA (North Atlantic Ocilation) has turned decidedly negative. What that means is a huge area of blocking high pressure over Greenland, which funnels arctic air southward into the Midwest instead of remaining north. It is like a great big boulder in a stream that forces the water to go around it. It buckles the jetstream so to speak, and the resulting clashes with warmer humid air from the gulf of mexico will mean storms every time it trys to warm up.

Want good weather? Get the heck out of the Midwest. Nothing but misery to be seen for several more weeks after what has already been a colder than normal winter with higher than normal snowfall.

Oats were in the ground & growing this time last
year.. Not one field or any of the equitment
been out to do any field work.. Sure has been a
long winter in NW PA.

Triple digits by the end of the week here in west central Aruzona. We had several overnite hard freezes here this winter and the citrus trees got hit hard, some may not survive. Most of the Buoganvilla bushes are dead. All flowering bushes took a hard hit. Some people ,my daughter included had water pipes which froze and broke. This was just a little over a month ago,now a heat wave, It is called ,living in the Valley of the Sun. We Can"t hardly wait,we have a trip in the Motor Home planned for Terribles R V Resort and Casino in Pahrump Nevada in two weeks. By the middle of April most of the Snow Birds have went Home and we can start having our good times. Come on out,it"s going to be the best time of the year for the next 3 months.JH

We don't have any snow left but it's not exactly warm here in NW Iowa. Today it's 35 and cloudy. I did do a little field work, if you can all it that. Put the V ripper on and ripped twelve different locations where cornstalk bale stacks had been this winter. Each location was less than a half acre and most of them were on high ground. It only worked early in the morning when there was a frozen crust. Soon as the sun got up I was done for the day. One farmer driving by about went in the ditch when he saw me out there in the field. Must have thought I was ripping the whole field. Felt good to turn some soil but I felt so out of place pulling the V ripper in the spring. Jim

It"s been warm and very very dry here in TX. Had several days in the last month 85 or higher, no rain for about 5 weeks.
