Yesterday"s news told about anniversary of Three Mile Island. I can't remember many dates but I knew where I was that day! We were having an auction for Straley Farm Supply In Dover PA just a short distance away. You talk about scary! Helicopters flying all over the place, no phone service Etc. Well you can imagine how many showed up for that sale. Got out of there and headed home and have had many happy days and auctions since.
 
Fred, sometimes I can't remember where I was 2 weeks ago ,LOL

I know I was working, married and 29 years old. Can't remember much more.
 
Don't remember 3MI,but I do remember 911-I was baling hay at a neighbor's.When I went to collect,I found the lady crying.Ispent the next 2 hours on her couch watching the news coverage of the event.
 
I was downstream at the VA hospital. Most everybody stuck around but there was a lot of tense talk as we kept our eyes glued on the TV sets.
 
On 911 I had pulled out of a field after mowing and my friend adjacent to the field flagged me down and brought me into his house before the second one hit.

I live in the area (between Gettysburg and New Oxford) now, but at the time was still growing up in Wisconsin. My wife (a local girl) on the other hand was in college outside Harrisburg and oblivious to the goings on until her mother drove up and found her to bring her home. What did we do before cell phones and the internet?

We had just sent our oldest son down to Harrisburg, to his new job, and we went down to visit around the time of the accident. Nobody was running around, tearing their hair out, or saying the sky is falling! The paper had something about it, but it was all hushed up soon, it seemed to me. And, the son, and us, had no ill effects!
 
9-11? I was on the destroyer USS Paul F. Foster (DD-964) while in the homeport of Everett, WA. We soon got underway for a 6 month deployment afterwards.

3 Mile Island? Don't remember what exactly I was doing, but I can say this,...I heard nothing but a bunch of liberals crying about how bad Nuke energy is. Bunch of morons in my book.
