A year ago today

I'm with you. A year ago I had my fields tilled ready to plant trees the coming weekend.

Now, it will be two weeks at least before I can get in the field.

We"ve got the opposite problem. Except for the cold front that came through yesterday, its been unseasonably warm. It was 86 Saturday.

Its also very dry. We could use a good rain, but nothing in the 10 day forecast. We"re already several inches behind.

Kinda looks like it might be a hot, dry spring and summer.

yep I hear ya,the wood pile is getting low ,the hay pile is getting low, cows are calving sheep are lambing and still have a foot of that white stuff on the ground, been a long winter had snow on the ground since november 11th,come on spring!!!!!! NW Wisconsin

Yeah, weather-wise we're somewhere between three and four weeks behind where we were this time last year. In fact, this is rather a later spring than normal here in southern MO. We sell produce at farmers markets, and this is really messing with my mind trying to guess when to plant certain crops. Can't use the calendar this year!

Will take two weeks to get on the fields here, once it stops raining- and no sign of that. Low pressure area off the NW Pacific coast, just sits there, spinning system after system in. 9+" or rain so far this month, normal for the month is a little over 5. Another flood watch in place for the next 2 days.

I am right there with you. I do much the same thing. I have a basement full of seedlings and shop lights and plenty more to go. With temperatures in the teens at night and highs in the 30's I can't afford to heat the greenhouse to keep things from freezing. Weather is supposed to break loose this weekend and creep up into the 50's and 60's for next week.

I still have manure to incorporate, cover crops to plant and plastic to lay.

Going to be a BUSY spring once it gets going.
