I must be a magnet for trouble...Going through my bank statement I find 2 remotely created checks to Comcast for the grand total amount of $651.37! One of the computer generated checks doesnt even have my name on it! And my bank cashed it! And im NOT a Comcast Customer! I went to my bank ------ and threw a fit signed some paperwork so (they can look into it). Contacted the Sherrif gave him all the info and he is gonna look into it. Nobody seems to care or if I will ever get my money back. So I contacted Comcast I swear it was at least 27 calls I made until I could understand someone, they had me from Banlandesh to Mexico. Finally I got to Corporate Headquarters and she was just snotty and said good bye and hung up. So I gave the Corporate number to the Sherrif let him deal with it..And I guess my homeowners Insurance is looking into if im covered. What a bunch of BS!!!Why is America goin down the drain??? Example 1A Shown here

MF1155. read your post on Comcast making with drawls from your bank account. Got to wondering how they picked your account number out of all the millions there is available through out various banks. In Other words. how did they pick you?Have you done any business with Comcast before? I'm not trying to be nasty, I just was troubled by what you described. Is every ones bank account numbers accessible to that company ,and if so HOW DID THEY GET EM???Inquiring minds want to know. Regards LOU.

Don"t know how they do it. But after my wife died I found a charge on our bank account. To a company in Montanna. Neither of us had ever been up there or had any dealings with that company.

Seems to me your bank should be refunding your money...right now! I had someone try and steal from me with an electronic check, I've NEVER used my account that way. Same thing, nobody gave a damn. They charged a bunch of calls to NJ, and bought a pizza. I went to the pizza place and they did give me the address that they delivered the pizza to. Good thing for them I ain't a member of Al Quaeda...

The Sherrif beleives somone who I wrote a check to, electric co, auction co, fuel co., whatever. Someome who works in one of these places copied my check and remotely (computer generated) made a few checks. A guy cant even send out a check anymore to pay a bill!

The bank should redeposit the funds. They paid those funds in accordance with an unauthorized signature. That's not whta the agreement was between you and the bank.

Your 3rd line tells all....Maybe if you approached things in a peaceful manner you may have got a better response..it's done so why get het up with others whom you contact for help..{they are not the baddies] The Bank should place this back in your a/c as it is an illegal withdrawl.You have been hi-jacked at sometime .Think about other personal papers.. Licenses etc.There maybe 50 of you driving around America.!

Just remember you only have 60 days to dispute with a bank, the bank can come back on you forever, but you have 60 days.

WHY are you blaming Comcast for what a scammer (most likely with NO connection to Comcast) did to your bank account???????

I can't BELIEVE your bank didn't suggest closing the account and creating a new one 'cause if some fraud artist has your account information you'll be hit AGAIN.

Here's some information and a list I found of companies/agencies that MAY be of help.

"Close your account and open a new account. The reason for this is your account numbers can used by the criminals to create counterfeit checks.

Also notify the check verification agencies yourself. Here is a list of these agencies:

* National Check Fraud Service: 1-843-571-2143
* SCAN: 1-800-262-7771
* TeleCheck: 1-800-710-9898 or 927-0188
* CrossCheck: 1-707-586-0551 or (800) 552-1900
* Equifax Check Systems: 1-800-437-5120
* International Check Services: 1-800-526-5380
* CheckRite (800) 766-2748
* ChexSystems (800) 428-9623

I'd suggest going back to the bank and go up the chain of command 'til you get some satisfaction. They're one of the most regulated organizations that exist and should immediately put the money back into your account; been living .....legally.....with a banker (currently EVP) for almost 45 years.

Under the Uniform Commercial Code, which most states have adopted, if bank pays on a forged item, they have to reimburse your account immediately. Its tremendously expensive and time consuming to compare every signature to the signature card, so the modern practice is to pay all checks, then refund the account if any forgeries show up (sort of like the Quadaffi policy- "Kill 'em all, and let Allah sort it out!".

I'd be going back to the bank, and maybe having a lawyer write them a nice letter, reminding them of the code section, Consumer Protection Act violations (with treble damages, attorney fees, etc.). Everyone hates lawyers until you pay one a hundred bucks, and your $651.37 shows up in the mail a few days later.

Did you ask comcast who's bill they paid for?? Last time I checked, people don't just mail money to comcast for the heck of it.
