gas tank

Bt. a gas tank for my farmall power unit. It has rusty dust in it and very little rust flakes. Wondering how I can clean it out. Maybe put marbles in it and some liquid and shake it around would work?? What would you do??

depending on the shape and size I have done garden tractor tanks (without baffle) with a hand full of nuts and water plug tank outlet strap to the wheel with bunji cords and drive around the field. the rotate tank do it again flush and dry. works foe me - some say use muratic ( spelling ) acid

After it is clean you'll probably want to have it plastic lined to prevent future corrosion. I have had all of mine done & no more problems.
