Handy tool for 3pt hitch

Almost forgot about this thing til I was doing some spring cleaning (covering several springs  ).
This is the bottom side.
Consists of 2 4x4's 6ft long a couple 40 inches or so, and a floor of some kind.
I've moved round bails weighing 700 pounds with it.

Just slide the runners over the drawbar and under the tractor to the right spot. Raise and lower with the hydraulics. Can be modified to fit tractor and to materials on hand and primary use.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

Interesting concept. I've never seen anything like it.
I can see it coming in handy in hauling a lot of things.

It looks like it's made of oak or another hardwood. It itself I suspect is fairly heavy.

Does those 2 arms slide over a drawbar on the 3-point hitch and then under the rear axle?

Not sure if they are oak, not the lightest thing but not the heaviest either. Over the drawbar and then under the tractor.
If I replace it, it'll be with 2x4 box tubing and a piece of plywood bolted to it. Should be stronger and lighter.
Might rile the safety nazis but I could see a couple chairs bolted to it and a couple old buzzards riding thru a parade with it.

(quoted from post at 08:27:46 03/23/11) i'm wonderin how you load that hay feeder? does it have a gate or ???

The side in the second picture swings open and I have a couple plates on the ground so I can raise my bailfork up and back in.

 Sounds like a plan. I may copy that. 8)

Is that a grab bar on your left tractor fender? I can't quite tell what it is.

Case has had this unit since the Eagle Hitch came out in 1955. I have one of these and a bigger home built that I use to carry firewood out of the woods with.

That's the CRS or CRAFT kicking in........... Bought that thing about a hundred miles away and I didn't want to disassemble it. Just strapped it on a trailer the way you see it and put the strap over the roof for insurance (didn't want it flying off and taking off a head).
I'll take it off tomorrow.

Hay Dave , NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT> LOL. LOU.
Just remember where you put the straps, in case you need to hold down any more roofs.LOLMight be able to use them on your tractor cab roof, keep em from blowing off on the autobahn.LOL

Those have been used around here for years, (Eastern Canada) hard to believe you guys haven't seen them.

I'm 55 and can remember as a kid my grandfather using one on the Ferguson that is now mine. We called them a carryall. I still have one.

Handy as a pocket in a vest.

You have just shown 2 instances where a 2 prong bale fork would do the same job. If you use one of those pallets with the balefork you then have a carry all.
