A neighbor down the road from our farm asked about buying three old John Deere 999 planters I have, I told I would $125. I have all the seed plates and extra hoppers. The only working planter is set up with a 3 point for use with the 8N. He is interested in buying it. I told him what all would be needed to fix it. The tractor hasn't been run since 2002. It has been kept in a shed. It will need engine overhaul, clutch hydraulic system cleaned. Radiator is full of sludge. I don't know if the block is cracked. The tractor started easy, smoked like heck but didn't knock or make any strange noises. I have a Ford/Dearborne 2 row cultivator with fenders and a ton of sweeps that will go with it. I know it will cost over $1000 to restore it. I was planning on making it my retiremint project but some idiot is putting in a HUD crack whitetrash trailer park across from our place and we may sell and "get the hell out of Dodge". What would be a reasonable selling price for the 8N?
