Anyone need a Schnauzer?

3yr old Standard Schnauzer. Female, neutered.
Healthy, has all shots.

She is a barker. And if she gets the scent of any rodent she will pursue it until it escapes and high tails it off her turf.

Problem is all my neighbors have had enough of her barking as we live in a "burb". Town noise ordinance says dogs cannot bark more then 10 minutes!
Today my 9yr old opened the window instead of the front door so dog would not get out, to tell his friends he was not coming out. Dog jumped out the window! Of course she then ran down the block chasing a squirrel, stopped to bark at some kids, ran off to play with another dog.

New neighbor living in a house I did not even know as occupied complained your dog barked at my 8yr old and scared her.

Best she go either live in the city sans rodents or I suppose on a farm where she could keep rodents away. She is a good "watch" dog as she barks at anything that comes near her "territory".

Muzzles do wonders for dogs and mother-in-laws that bark too much.

A yelping dog is very irritating to the peace of mind.

At least she won't be laying around licking her balls...............since you neutered her

Prolly coulda concentrated a little more on the responsibility of having a pet than the thought of it. You wouldn't be trying to unload a perfectly good dog now....

You can get a very humane , adjustable intensity bark collar for less than 50 dollars.
Kinda hard to relocate a dog when no one knows your location.

They can be surgicaly debarked--it works.that way you get to keep your dog, and your a$$h01e neighbors get some'quiet'.Then they will find something else to b1+ch about!

We live in York, Maine.
That is not a cable, its about 20 ft of 1/4" line that is tied to a post by back door. She has plenty of room to run around. Can"t leave her out as she runs off after anything that moves. AND once she corners what ever moved, she digs big holes to get "em. Digging holes in neighbors lawns is not well tolerated. This dog needs to protect some ones barn from rodents!
The posters who feel they have to comment on "I should of thought of this or that before I got the dog", sorry, its a dog, and as such, we had no idea how "rodent" crazy this dog would be.
Squirrels make maker her nuts.
Anyway, if no one needs a "ratter" I will just give her away to some family that needs a dog for their kid/s. My kids hate walking or picking up after her so they don"t deserve to keep her.

Yeah, my "lily white" neighbors will batch about something else once she is gone.

lol, Roxy doesn't yelp. She barks like a German Shepard and snarls like Doeberman when she's onto a rodent.
Another neighbor just got some Japanese terrior, its yelp makes you want to pull your hair out.

BTW, we got a Schnauzer because my wife is allergic and this breed has hair as opposed to fur.

My oldest son who has Aspergers wanted a dog and we resisted for a very long time. Now it turns out her barking is irritating to him to the point he is willing to let her go.

If it was up to me, we would have gotten a nice Tri-Color collie.
Then again, the deer ticks around here are brutal. Just pulled one off the 9yr olds neck last nite. That is why i prefer the winter. No ticks, no carpenter ants, no skeeters or black flies.

It sounds like your looking for an excuse to get rid of the dog rather than putting some effort into proper training or having a dog specialist come in. A dog won't know any better until you teach it and that goes for just about every breed. 3 years old is still very young for a small dog.
