I recently bought a 1970 Deere model 1020 diesel that was repainted, not fully restored. When the engine is running, and the key is turned to the off position, the engines runs for 20 or 30 seconds before turning off. This only happens when the engine is warm. If the engine is still cold, it will shut off normally when the key is turned to the off position. Also, the fuel gauge always reads full when the key is in the run position. If the engine is running with the key in the off position, the fuel gauge reads full until the engine quits, then goes to empty when the engine quits.
Any ideas?
