I really feel old when I walk around the yard and remember planting these trees, the last one was a christmas tree in our livingroom, took it out of the livingroom and planted it out in the front yard 19 years ago

Hello Larry@stinescorne,
Age does not come alone!Aches and pains soon follow.BUT..........it beats the alternative no?
Keep doing that good block work as long a you like to do it, then RETIRE!

I know the feeling when I see a kid and remember his great grampa who might have passed on 40 years ago.Seems to happen a lot these days.lol.

i hear ya...one in particular is a 80' pine i brought from Galveston in a 1# coffee can back in '64...it mighta been a foot tall when i planted it...one of its cones MITE fit in a coffee can now

I don't feel old until I think back on Michigan's pheasant heydays. They were 50-60 years ago. I was a kid in high school.

Larry - I'm reverting to dog years if that helps!

Sale today and then cutting downed trees in the woods this afternoon. Not quite like it used be.

Larry. Twas that good ole COUNTRY MUSIC YOU PLAYED FOR THE TREE WAS WHAT MADE IT GROW SO BIG.LOL. Now if I played my music for it, Wellllllllllll GOOMBY TREE. .My turn now LOL. To much country music will make ya grow old in a hurry. Don't believe me? Just look at those trees you planted 15 years back. Regards LOU.

I get that feeling looking at a piece of rusted antique machinery and finding out it is 20 yrs younger than me.

But i felt young again the other day when i went to pick up a 240 lbs bare 6.5 engine block i had bought at a local wrecker. The block was sitting on a couple stacked wheels and i was about to wrestle it in the truck box when a 25 something year old walked up and said."Shall i do that for ye Grampa",i said,be my guest!.
Well, try he might he couldn't lift it.I said "shall i try"
The guy said, its just to damm heavy,i said "maybe, just let me.
The look on his face was priceless when i set that block on the tailgate.
I told the guy,be carefull who you call grampa next time.

Wasn't hunting pheasants and rabbits fun? Now we got coon, coyotes and those split-hoofed, skinny legged, rat things that wreck cars called deer. I hope the city boys get out and eventually kill all of them! Open season on Bambi!
