The diesel shop I drive past when going up town came out last summer and asked about my McCormick tractor as they were thinking about taking on the line to sell. Never heard or saw anymore about it until the other day I saw a couple lite green tractors setting in there lot. Had to drive in there and see what brand they were as the only color I know like that is the Fendt and they sure did not look like Fendt. One of them was a brand new tractor and it said Deutz-Farr on the Hood. I did not know they were still being made. I wish them luck but that is going to be a tough sell in this area as every body has red and green blood flowing in their veins. I have the only McCormick within maybe 30 miles and neighbors look at me funny for having one. Any way who knows the succesion of that Deutz-Farr tractor line?

I don't know much about them, but we have a guy in south central Ok that seems to sell some. Back in Ohio the dairy down the road always had Deutz tractors and they had a new one last summer when I was home to see my folks.

KHD Deutz owned Allis Chalmers & Gleaner (the ag division) from 85 on. All of Allis did not goto one company: for example construction became Fiat-Allis.
Through a management buyout, AGCO came about in the 1990s. The Duetz part went elsewhere and today is under the SAME (from Italy) umbrella.

The new Deutz-Farr has noting in common with the old air cooled Deutz tractors other than the name. These new ones are just Same tractors renamed. I bought two new Deutz tractors in the 1980s, 3.5 and a 6275. Liked them both. I looked at these new ones at a farm show last year. They are watered cooled and had a lot of cheap/thin control levers plus plastic everywhere.

" These new ones are just Same tractors renamed."

Some models are like SAME. Some have Deutz engines in them. Agrofarm and Agrotron have the German Deutz engine. And yes they are water cooled. I had an Agroplus 85 (SAME), it wasn't heavy enough for my needs. Traded up for a Agrofarm 100 and it's a total different tractor. I'm happy with it. Knock them after you try them. LOL Lots of features on these tractors that are standard and on other brands are options that cost extra. Ball and hook quick hitch, all wheel braking and 540 and 1000 pto with a standard 540 shaft are a few. These tractors are fuel sippers when you compare HP with other brands. My Agrofarm uses about 1.5 gal.per hour less fuel than the JD in the same weight and HP range. That's a big plus when you look at fuel prices today.

Deutz engines, water cooled, good on fuel in the bigger models. Some SAME transmissions and whole tractor in smaller models. They are a well respected tractor if not a bit expensive in North America.

I'd love to have an agrotron or agrofarm with the stop and go transmission option. You can brake to a stop and take off for round baling without clutching.

Ya,we had a dealer near here that was in and out of every brand known to man every time a contract was up for renewal. Last line he handled before he went out of business a few years ago was Deutz.
