Do you get the shakes too?

Auction season is getting in full swing around here with 4 big consignment auctions in the next three weeks-and I can"t WAIT. Does anybody else get as excited as a kid on Christmas for auctions? I have always loved auctions ever since I was old enough to go with Dad. I usually don"t buy lots, but I just love to listen to an auctioneer sing and watch the bidding. Not many farm auctions around here anymore, so consignment auctions are about all we have left.

Nah,i don't go out of my way to attend an auction,i got enough junk right here at home.

I like going to auctions just to see what's there even if there is nothing I want to buy. My problem is I'm doing my thing with the old stuff (pre 1960's) and there are very few auctions with that stuff any more around my area. Mostly modern day equipment auctions any more.

already been to 2 so far this year. always enjoy going, see a lot of friends there too. kind of a social event.

Yep,whenever anybody asks me what I'm there after,I tell'em,nothing, this is my social life!

I love going to them when and if I have some $$ in my pocket to play with. If I do not have the $$ then they can be a lot less fun when you see something sell real cheap but you do not have the $$ to bid on them. Had that happen a few years ago when a good running and good looking 195? JD MT sold for $550

I enjoy a good auction, look for older things. I like cast iron collectables plus the homade apple pie is always greatGP

I like them but don't usually waste my whole day by going to one. Besides the things I want always seem to bring WAY much more then I can find them elsewhere for.
If you ever get around north central Ohio go to one of Dave Auker's auctions. They draw a big crowd as Dave has a good following and he is about half a comedian too.

I find that I never know what is there that I didn't know that I needed..

OK to start the auction with a cup on hot coffee in one hand and a donut stuffed in my mouth, and a couple more donuts in the other hand..

That way, I have to mind my manners; and not yell with food in my mouth, or wave and spill any food or coffee on the folks standing close by.

I miss farm sales myself.. The stuff I go for usually isn't found at consignment sales..

I buy the crap in boxes, buckets, pails, and piles.. Yep, I'm the one that you always look at the pile and think what goofy fool bought that stuff..

Sometimes you find treasures, sometimes collectibles I can sell off, and sometimes it's just scrap.. Filled my bolt bins this way a time or 2, and pick up a lot of miscellaneous odds and ends that all too often comes in handy, as well as a lot of tools that are now in my service truck.

Speaking of consignment auctions, there always used to be a place of SR 17 in Illinois between Dwight and Kankakee just east of that huge S-curve at that little town, Reddick. Forget the name of the place on the north side of the road, but father and sons place, and used to do I think four consignments per year. One oughta be coming up about now for the folks over that way.

Good luck.

I'd go, just to check it out, but I don't know why, just can't handle crowds since I got out of the military.

Very rare I can do it....

Bet ya didn't expect that answer, lol.....

Just a soon set here, though bored out of my skull... :D
