Satoh part needed!

My first time on this site - usually spend my time on the forum for my own tractor!
My son has a Satoh G650. The steering locks up when very cold, and he tried forcing it - never a good idea - and broke the center loose. It has a tapered center hole (looks like 1/2" to 3/4" taper) w/a square key slot. From what we have found, this style is no longer available.
Does anyone have an idea (or a used steering wheel!)?

Satohparts.com has parts a little pricy but do have them. As far as steering locking up mine used to get water in the steering box and would freeze when cold,a new top gear box seal fixed it.

Gotta confess....I put the cheapie ford wheel from Tractor supply on my 650G and shot a bead on it. I"m thinking the grinder will work as well as the wrench when the time finally comes....
