O/T One warranty worked.............

In July of 2009, my wife and I bought an $1800 Maytag refrigerator, double door with the freezer drawer in the bottom and a cold water/ice tap in the front of the door.

When the unit was less than a month old, the cold water tap froze and no water came out. Upshot was, over the 20 months since, warranty covered seven service calls to try to fix it. A couple of weeks ago, Maytag Customer Service decided the unit could not be fixed, and replaced it with a new current like model at no charge. New warranty starts all over again.

The guys just left from installing the new one and picking up the old one. Can't beat that!

That's what Maytag's Customer Service gal said, and we have the card to send in.

glad it worked out for you......... Wife just HAD to have a Siemens top of the line stainles steel model. Fridges aren't that big here and our kitchen isn't that big either so a 2ft wide fridge is the limit. At the same time we bought the "nice" one, they had an LG in the same size on sale for about 200 bucks. 9 years later and that siemens thing has been a constant headache but the LG that I ut in the barn from day 1 `is still going strong.

We had a Maytag like that. Thought we were buying something good. It was nothing but trouble compressor finally locked up. Bought a Samsung no trouble yet.

My maytag microwave just crapped under warranty, and they replaced it and reset the warranty.

Just had a 10 year old Maytag refrigerator hauled out yesterday (bad compressor) and replaced with a GE. Kinda think our washer and drier (same age) that was replaced last year was a Maytag also. NOT on the top of my list!

Fortunately, the 30+ year old, hand me down "garage beverage cooler" is still going strong - guess they don't make them like they used to.

We got a similar Samsung three door bottom freezer model last year with the water & ice in the door. We really love it. The first thing the wife did was to go out and try to fill that freezer; dang near broke me. lol.

I know what you mean about filling the freezer.

Besides the refrigerator in the house, we have an upright freezer and two standard refrigerators in the garage. The freezers are all full, although I'll admit one unit in the garage is my private domain for deer meat in various forms.

Guess if we get snowed in, we don't have to worry about chow.

Our daughter just bought a Maytag that is stainless 26 cu-ft. freezer on the bottom with water & ice from the front. She bought it the Friday after Thanksgiving for $999.99.

I had a Sears nat gas water heater for a few months shy of being 19 years old. They replaced it free of charge with their Kenmore Power Miser 12. The old water heater was their Survivor that was warrantied for 20 years. The lady told me as long as I keep the paper work
on the Survivor that this water heater has a lifetime warranty. Hal
