bringing tractors across the border

If you wear the proper headgear they'll let you cross with no problems.

I would ask customs as they are the ones you need to deal with not someone on a tractor board. They will have all the info.

No no no. Needs to be an Elmer Fudd hat with a fuzzy ball on top with the ear flaps down. Should be duty free, but the least you should do is have a written reciept, all the info you would see on a car bill of sale, and steam clean or power wash the whole thing, that keeps from speading soil born germs. They are doing a great job stopping terrorists you can barely see with a mircoscope, the ones with a 700 foot container ship are harder... ps, might want to have a proper plate and reg with your trailer, even if you don't need it in your home state.

Probably need all fluids removed to make sure they arent explosive Remove all air in tires and unhook the battery.

Good gosh, man....check out the Customs website!
Or get a phone number and call them.

The tractor is one thing, but you will need a passport or learn to speak Canadian.

You do have to deal with Customs. I'm not sure what's involved, but I'm guessing it will be well worth the money to pay a company to ship it for you. I would get a quote from a company like uShip.

My BIL bought a large used piece of logging equipment (Rottne Forwarder) in Canada a few years ago and he had the seller deliver to the Canadian side of the bridge. Then he drove it across with the paperwork through customs and then onto his lowboy, much simpler.

If they were made in the USA there shouldn't be any problem. I have brought 3 across with nothing but a bill of sale...only once did they look at the paperwork. Try not to bring any mud or dirt with it. I picked up one tractor in the spring and saw another by the road for sale. I pulled into a muddy gooey mess and left with about a ton of mud on my truck and trailer....spent an hour chipping it off by the side of the road before I crossed into Idaho...

The past couple of years I have driven semi to Winnipeg and to Saskatoon delivering produce. I asked at the Pembina ND and North Portal ND what had to be done to get one back. Both crossings told me very easy, make sure you have bill of sale and absolutely no dirt, (best to pressure was it) but no dirt, Hope this helps. Gordy in MN

US goods returned a informal entry can be done on the spot with a very clean tractor. I like the 4 to 5 AM entries most are gone so no hassle.

I just brought one from Minot ND into Ontario. All i needed at the border was a piece of paper saying it had been properly washed, bill of sale, name of company or person it came from and name of person it was goin. Payed $110 dollars to a broker and good to go. There is alot of silly paper work and BS but its not bad, Id do it again
