Western KY ?

Work has sent me over to the western side of KY. I have lived in ky all my life and had never been past BG. Noticed this whole area has been strip mined! This was a pretty common thing in my area (eastern ky) but no where near this large a scale. I guess I thought john prine was lying a little when he wrote Paradise. Any way do any of you guys from the area know of any good reading on this I would like to get a little more knowledge about this area

As far as general reading, cant say as I can recall any. I did a couple of semesters of work down in that area when I was in grad school at UK. Totally different ballgame as far as mining goes and geology. If I could have specialized in that kind of mining I'd have stayed in engineering instead of switching over to ag.

if i were you not sure what county your stayng in west ky is a farly large area that said i would go to the public liberary in hopkins and mulenberg countys christian county has somestrip mining in north christion but hopkins .mulenber would be my bet to find reading material
