Wild hogs

anybody in Texas as far as i know that hasnt had hog damage is either lying or has field fence around their property....hogs are bad news.

I was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson Ariz. and on the weekends I used to go exploring out in the desert. I found a steep ravine with about a three foot wide trail on one side and I was following it to see where it went. I came around a curve and there was an old mine entrance at the dead end. I got within about 25 feet from the entrance and all of a sudden some javalenas heard me or smelled me and about 15 or 20 came charging out of the mine. There was only one way for them to escape and that was the trail that I was on. I hugged the side of the mountain as close as I could get and they all ran past me in single file. I don't know which was more scared, me or the pigs! ha ha. I don't think that they usually attack people unless they are cornered.

I have, they mess up hay fields real bad. Sweet potatoes used to be big here but not anymore since we have so many hogs. I shot two 3 days ago..... one had 6 piglets that I"m feeding now, hope I can sell them in a few weeks.

They were coming right in to towns here this past winter. I had to start staying with the horses that are not at the house and feed their grain away when they stopped eating and clean up any spilled. Hogs were going right in the paddocks to get any spilled.
