Gaining Daylight

Since Dec 21 we've gained about 2 hours of daylight every day. About 45 mins in the morning and more importantly about an hour and 17 minutes in the evening. Go to work and come home in daylight now. During the dark winter weeks a working stiff never sees the light of day.
Sitting here drinking coffee before I leave I can sure notice the difference.
Makes you hopeful and improves your outlook.

Well, hopefully all the extra daylight will help melt this foot of snow we got.

If you've gained 2 hrs of daylight every day then it was daylight full time by the 1st week of Jan.

sure makes it more fun...I've been switching to night shift since October just so I could see to feed the animals and get a little work done. Wife is easier to get along with about everyday too.......She likes it better cause I don't shine a flashlight in her eyes :roll:

I remember last I was over there in June, it got light at 4am and dark after 10pm. Made for a long day. I always get up with the sun but when in Germany, go to bed when the bars close.

I'm past that stage now...Hard to believe that a human body can filter that much alcohol.........
Summer is nice, but december is 8 hours of can see at best. Where were you when you were here?

Erlangen in southern Barvaria. Nice people there. Filtering the alcohol is easier there due to the Purity Law. They add too much "stuff" in the US.

I just relocated to Vermont. I think we've gained 4 hours of light so far.

But geez I just did my 5 mile walk at zero degrees F + wind.

I'm about 50 miles from Erlangen (Schweinfurt a little North and East))

Beer is better the farther south you go..........

Here is Southern Maine the days are noticeable longer too. Has not yet helped the temp though.
High today predicted to be 26, low tonite 6.

Rises at 6:31 AM with 10.9 hours of sunlight, then sets at 5:22 PM

I second the "Purity Law" comment. American beer isn"t actual Beer. In Japan they call fermented rice Sake, at Budweiser the add it to beer to "make" Bud in 24 hrs.

I go out and feed at 6:10 every weekday morning- it occurred to me just this AM (after 3 days "off" from early feeding) that Flashlight Day is coming up soon- thats the day each winter that I can leave the flashlight in the house!

Sometimes its the small things that make life a little easier to take.
