Need help to find value of these Implements (PICS)

Here are some pictures of implements that I am considering buying and reselling. They all are in good shape, but just not being used by the owner. He wants scrap price for each of them.

The first is a Case 5 bottom plow. looks complete and solid.

The next is an International 700 Automatic 5 Bottom Plow. Also is in great shape.

The third is an International 55 Chisel Plow.

And finally a Wil-Rich? chisel plow? It is in three sections and folds up.

What do you think each of these implements weights and what do you think they are worth?
Just trying to figure out if these are something that I could make some money on. They look too nice to just cut up and haul in.
Thanks for the help!

Location Means a lot, Width of implements means a lot, & a few other smaller factors.

The plows: I would say You cant go wrong with $750, & maybe worth $1500 or more.
IH 55 Chisel: $1000 - $1750.
Wil-Rich Chisel: They seem to bring better money in my area. I say $2500, or more, & $4000 isnt out of place with really good points. I saw one at a used dealer that looked average recently. 57 footer, & they wanted $10,900 for it. The one pictured looks to be around 20 - 25 foot; I'm guessing!

A freindly suggestion for the future... Put a tape measure in Your vehicle, & take it everywhere You drive. I keep a 25' in mine all time.

This looks closer to a field cultivator. I counted 37 shanks and could have missed some shanks. It would take a large tractor to pull a 37 shank chisel plus I think the shanks on the Wil-Rich are too close together or a chisel.

Moldboards down here would be $300-$500,Chisel plow $1000 & FC $ 2500.

As stated location has lot to do with value.

The last pic is a field cult. not a chisel. The IH plow looks to have new moldboards on it what with the stickers still visible from setting outside in the weather. It also has cover boards which help for corn on corn which is why most people moldboard. What is automatic on the IH plow?

I live in your area. both plows are worth iron price only, locally. the chisel maybe $1000 and the field cultivator will bring about $2000 in the local market. In different parts of the US these items might be worth more but then transportation enters in to the price.

The Case plow is a model 400, if I remember right. It can be adjusted manually to either a 16" or 18" cut. It was their first attempt at a high clearance plow and it could plow a bale of hay under but they didn't change the trips from the lower clearance one so the tension was real hard to set right. Either they tripped too light or they didn't trip at all and the bottom was ripped off on a rock. The factory came out with a hydraulic trip conversion program for I believe $200 per bottom, if my memory serves me right. That worked OK and was trouble-free for me. Should be of mid-70's vintage. Did a good job of plowing but pulled a little hard. The moldboards never did shine as much as a Deere moldboard. It's hard to believe the new implements that were cutting edge technology when I started farming are mere scrap iron today.Jim

Plows are a tough sale in our area of Ia .There are a few plow days that help to collectors and actually the 3 or 4 buttom semi mounts that are made in late 60s have some value.I sold a nice 700 6/16s for $600 dollars and was happy. The chisel and field cultivators are worth whatever you and buyer agree on on as they vary from salvage[around $175 more if prepared] to substantialy more to the right guy.Finding him is the toughest part.

if the owner is willing to take scrap price then that out tell you value. i imagineif you ask him he probably has tried to sell but no takers. In my area thats all they would be worth to. buyin for your own use yes,but buying to resell good luck and don't expect any return on your money for quite awhile, then again you might get lucky

I would have bought all of it two months ago. I gave $1500 for a chisel exactly like that one and $2000 for a 27' field cultivator.
If I were to buy plows, I wouldn't want to give more than $750 for 5 bottoms. They are a dime a dozen here, no one plows anymore. I would rather plow than rip with a v-ripper though. I agree with the location comments, I always try to buy equipment and get the seller to haul it to me in on the deal, the two chisel and the FC I bought were both deliverd price both were 50 miles from me.

People want a hgh clearance plow and will pay for them. All the others, like you have there are being used, but seemt to sell for scrap rice.

Chisel plows likewise, if you have something modern that handles trash it brings good money, the little one there sells for $100-300 at farm auctions all day long.

Field cultivator might be worth a grand or 2. Depends on how good it does with trash as well. Older one's don't let bean stubble or cornstalk clumps pass through very well and bring less. Mostly a field cultivator value like that one depends on the shape of the shovels on it - worn out ones is going to cost close to $10 a shank to replace, will bring down the value a lot.

You just made my wife hapy - no snow in your pics!!!! We are over 60 inches this winter, just got another foot yesterday & still coming down, and perhaps half of he old snow is still out there. Will be a month before anyone can dig an implement out of the snow & ice around here.

The Case plow here wouldn't sell for more than scrap price since its a semi-mount. The IH plow would bring 1.5 times scrap if it had good bottoms.

isn't that a White built plow sold thru Case, or did Case make some plows in the semi-mount market themselves at first?
