Electric cooling fan sensor

In the prosess of putting an electric cooling fan on my payloader. Where is the best place to get a temp sensor to turn it on??? The fan is coming off of one of those made in Mexico, metric, cheaply built but expensive to buy throw away automobiles. Gotta save money when you can!!! Thanks,Jim

years ago I built a reversed W9 loader tractor with a Chevy 305 engine and an electric radiator fan.

I used the adjustable thermostat from a junked electric water heater. The WH thermostat is adjustable to temp and has contacts large enough to power a large electric fan without an auxillary relay.
I soldered steel screw heads to the brass top radiator tank, spaced correctly to match the mounting lugs of the thermostat and attached the thermostat with the correct size machine nuts.
This cheap adjustable thermostat has worked trouble free for 15+ years
