GOT MY HARBOR FREIGHT PARTS CLEANER

Yesterday I got my Harbor Freight Parts Cleaner ($99) a day earlier than expected. Tonight I assembled this thing and it was very user friendly in doing so. The thing sits pretty in the barn's shop area, but no, I have not tried to use it yet. Right now, it is too cold out there and I am afraid I will freeze everything since the thing only allows water soluble solvents to be used. What is it that most of you are using in the winter months? I do have a heater in my barn, but that only will happen when I am out in the barn. What do you all think? Any recommendations on what's best to use in this cheap Chinese made product? I do have two gallons of Simple Green out there,...should I use that? Again,..what about freezing?

Detmurds, Like I showed you our HF cleaner. If you are handy, find an old oil furnace ,take off the pump assembly .re-install it on the parts washer with a filter and new shut off and a new electric spark proof ,off and on switch. Kerosene or #1 fuel oil mixed will make it 100% more efficient then UNCLE DUDLEY'S OATMEAL SOLUTION.Won;t have to worry about freezing water mixed solution again. You Don't have to do it but you won't get the cleaning action that's desired. Really a good tank assembly Glad you got it. JMHO Regards, LOU

I hear ya and I am sure I will probably agree with you after a few tries using this thing. To tell you the truth,...I don't think I am quit as "handy" as you might be? I'll be honest, I don't really think I will desire using the pump, but the tank will be good while using some brushes. Freezing is my main concern right now I guess.

As for your cleaner,...again,..I likes it!

Paul. Not unless you want a heated building for a short time, and your fire insurance policy is paid up.The reason I took off the transformer and electrodes was(now get this) NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO MOUNT IT ALL on the tray LOL. KA BOOMMMMMMMM!!!!
Regards LOU.ps. Only you can prevent barn /garage/shop fires/let alone the forests. REMEMBER GUYS+++ SAFETY FIRST!!!!!!!!

I got one about 8 or 9 years ago, looks like Lou's only mine is yellow with black legs. Has a cheap little pump built into the side with just a thin mesh screen for a filter. For first use I put diesel fuel in it, worked so-so, took lots of brushing to get anything clean. After I moved it to new location, I bought regular non-flamable parts cleaning fluid. Been in it every since, no problems. It's in a non-heated shop. Just telling my experience with one. Chris
