Found these pics. that I had taken several years ago of this peice of equipment. It looks to be a Fordson Tractor, modified to haul iron ore I was told. It sets outside a small museum on the Great Sacandaga here in NY. Has anyone else seen one like this? It looks like a real beast to drive. Enjoy; The Acg

I presume it is because the body is centered over the drive axle and looks like the steering end could be very light when the rig is loaded.

A few years ago there was a fordson like that at the little log house tractor show in Hastings MN. Im not sure if it is always there or not. I thought it was kind of neat.

This thing has a mechanical latch that is unlocked and it dumps, no hyd, or mechanical mech. that I could see. I bet who ever drove this thing kept a real good repore with the shovel operator. Where the bulk of the load was placed in the box could have a real affect on how this thing drove and dumped.

Thanks for posting the pictures. That is a neat machine, I had never seen a setup like that before. It looks like it would be pretty handy for firewood too, as long as you were on decent ground.
