hydraulic pumps???

Hey folks,
The hydraulic pump on my tractor is shot and costs more than I paid for the tractor. Is there such thing (and would it do the same job) as a 12 volt hydraulic pump that I could use to run the 3PH and front loader on my tractor? If so, is there an online source?

Yep, surpluscenter is who I would have recommended, too. If you can't get an electro-hydraulic pump, you might be able to drop-chain one off of the crankshaft, or put a pass through pump, on the PTO. Or maybe a belt driven one off of the motor.

The book I have show a similar pump but not sure. One number is for a small displacement gear pump,Shows 12 different units all show 3/8npt on port in,and out.#256-211R clear thru 256-222R
all have different displacement and shaft is a flat tang Clockwise rotation,price from $72.57 thru $79.84 top end. Read last half of my e-mail to you giving you the e-mail address of the fellow who is extremely knowledgeable

A 12 volt pump to run a 3 pt. maybe but a loader, forget it. 12 volt pumps are basically just a starter motor driving a pump and are much less GPM than an engine driven pump. Every owners manual I've ever read says not to crank the engine over for than 30 seconds and then let the starter cool off. A loader would also require a larg enough reservoir. Do you really want to spend half an hour waiting everytime you use the loader for 30 seconds? A power steering pump may work for a 3 pt. as well but any belt driven pump under a heavy load would have a tendency to slip. Dave

Less money and a lot better performance for either a pulley drive fron the engine or direct from the front crank shaft. Have new cessna pumps for $ 250.00 us that would be twice what that little pump had. You should be abel to get something over there that will get you going.
Psi probably not a problem on the electric but flow or volumn won,t be fast enough.

gues I'll be better off just replacing with original pump unless I can find a seal kit. Local dealer says it's not available but haven't got numbers and looked farther yet.

Dave, have you got a local hydraulic shop? Sometimes a good rebuilder will know a few parts sources, that dealers don't. I had thousand dollar wheel motors going bad, on a gravely zero-turn mower, the rebuilder rebuilt them for $300, and they lasted as long or longer than new.

Haven't tried that route yet. Pump is a bosch/rexroth, bosch/rexroth hydraulic pumps are made less than 10 miles from my house along with a big piece of bosch starters. Had a ford pickup with a bosch starter and took it to the retail desk at the factory asking for a solenoid or a complete starter. No parts available for sale but starter would be 350 euro. Got a bosch starter from rock auto for $65. Have a guy giving me a used pump if it's the right one. If so, I'll take it around and try to get parts for it or post the numbers here to see if I can find something.
