Dads pile of tractors.

My father has a good pile of old tractors and parts accumulated in his woods over the last couple years, some running, some parts, and I thought I would poke around on here to see if anyone was particularly interested in it. His place is near Pelican Rapids Minnesota and his phone number is 218-863-4230, his name is Gary. I was gonna list some of the parts and tractors under the for sale section but honestly don't know enough to start, has Allis Chalmers, Case, Farmall, John Deere, tractors all over the woods. Along with some implements and tons of parts.

I am sorry if I violate anything on here, however I honestly don't know enough about them to post anything for sale decently. I just thought I would pass along the message to people who were likely interested. Besides I wouldn't mind getting one of the farmall M's or the JD B myself. He had a couple of Oliver's an 88 and 880 too, as well as SC and DC Case with a wide front on the DC.

Hahaha, Yes actually. He does sell things pretty regularly but he accumulates it faster. There are a fair number of folks that stop by to see what he has but he was interested in cleaning out his woods a bit and asked me if I knew anyone who may be interested online. Since I only recently got interested in old tractors myself I have been on this site alot lately and thought you guys may be interested. He asked me to post some things but in all honesty I don't know enough about what he has to post it decently, even the years of most of them. He wanted it posted but would sooner die than use a computer himself. lol...

Here's what you do:

You go out in the woods with your Dad, a pen, a camera, and a notepad. If you're trying to sell the tractors out from under him, make sure he brings along a small-caliber rifle so he can put you down while you're away from public view :)

Together, you pick several tractors to sell. It could be at random. You could pick the first ones you come across. Maybe your Dad has a plan... Whatever... Just pick as many as you think you can comfortably handle, even if it's only 1 or 2.

Take several pictures of each tractor.

Write down the brand, model, serial number, hours, type of engine, notes about the tractors condition.

Load the pictures on your computer. Resize them all to 640x480 using MS Paint.

Pick the best one for each tractor.

Go to the Photo Ads section to the left.

Post an ad.

That's the way to do it.

'Radom pile of tractors' doesn't het much intrest.

Knowing the models, serial numbers, and a pic - that generates some interest. And it's right there free for ya to use, so get out there with a shovel, move some snow, and get those pics and info. :)

Man, I gotta proof read better... Trying to type in the darm with the wife asleep doesn't help any....

A 'random pile of tractors' message doesn't generate a lot of interest from people. Getting the info of what you have and a picture will light people up.

It's all about salesmanship, you gotta ramp up your salesmanship!

Thanks for all the help guys, however in all honesty I am just not the salesman type. too honest. I just discovered a love for old tractors myself and kind of wish to keep them all for myself. Dad made me promise to put the word out as he said tractor restoring just costs too much for him to mess with anymore so he was thinking of selling 10 pretty nice old tractors and several plows, etc...for high scrap iron prices. I just cant bear to see that happen to them so thought I would put the word out. I would rather none of these go for scrap even if it means I don't get any. I doubt he would sell the 6 good runners for scrap but its still alot of H and M parts plus JD 2 bottom plows etc...Scrap price up here is dang near as high as these things go for lately.
