National Farm Machinery Show In Louisville, KY!

I am leaving for the show at about 6:30 - 7 this morning. Just over a 2 hour drive for me.

For those who are not familiar; They expect about 300,000 people through saturday. 800 exhibitors taking over 4, or 5 buildings on the Kentucky State Fair grounds. Been several times, & have not ever been able to see everything I wanted to see in a full day!FREE ADMISSION! BUT $8.00 FOR PARKING! Guess the State of Kentucky knows how to make money!!!

The vast majority of this show is New Equipment. But there are several parts dealers that carry just about any part You need. Old, new, used; Refurbished, remakes. I bought parts for a 1954 JD "60" a couple of times at the show. I saw an ad for one parts dealer said if You have to order a part; then you get a 10% discount. So they will probably be well stocked for the show.

Leaving in a few minutes... Got to go!!!

On my way too! Sitting in a McDonalds parking lot, sipping on bad coffee, playing on my laptop, waiting for the sun to come up. I'll be there when the doors open!

After have'n a baby last year the wife don't have her vacation time built back up yet so we (like most every one else it seems) won't go till Saturday. Bout 2 1/2 hours for us, worth the drive just for a pork chop!

Leaving in the morning about 5 am. About a 4 hr drive for me. I am trying to get it for sure but best I can tell this is my 43th show. Have worked some for all days as a rep. Pulled tractors there in the late 60s so been around the show better part of my life. It is called the grandaddy of the farm shows. Unbelivable as an exhibitor what you have to pay over in the area where John Deer, Case Ih, Kubota and Massey are located. That 4 day show accounts for roughfully 28% oy KUBOTA,s annual expense on advertisment. Big bucks..

Boy, it was crowded today! Little tip for those who are going. Get in line for lunch about half an hour before you're ready to eat.
