4000 Ford ?????????

Got a 4000 Ford tractor. There are 2 different numbers stamped on the tractor on the left side. The top number is 41202 and the lower number with a diamond like shape on each side and the number is 23636. I am thinking that the second number is the serial number and that makes it a 62 model. What does the top number tell you guys? What is the weight of the tracor? Thanks

41202 is the model #
4xxxx 4000
x1xxx built after Aug 1962
xx20x Utilty type tractor with adjustable front axle
xxxx2 Five speed trans w/live PTO

23636 is the serial #
It was built in May 1963
In fact it was the 187 tractor built in May out of 2952 so it was most likely built on the 2nd of May.

I don"t have numbers handy, but sounds like you might have one of the industrial models. Depending on what it has, the weight can vary greatly.
If it is one of the old heavy duty indutrials, it came with a cast nose piece, full subframe and usually at one point in its life a loader and backhoe.
The ford forum on this site has a couple guys who know much more about these than I and can probably direct you to more info.
John Smith"s site also will help you, but I don"t have that link on this computer.
Good Luck.
Tony

Looks like they got you ID'd on the serial #.
If you ask questions about it always mention that you have a Prior or 4 cyl 4000 as opposed to a later 3 cyl 4000.
Two different animals with the same name.
