The Scv on my 2240 is leaking.JD sells a kit to repair the SCV.Does anyone know how difficult it is to install the kit?

On our 4040 the shop foreman said, you need some kind of a tool, either to take it apart or to set it. When we overhauled them we changed to pioneer ISO fittings, a lot better, now all our tractors are the same. The change was pricey!

If it's the same breakway that my 2950 has, you probably don't need the kit. There's some o-rings you can replace with just a hook pick and a steady hand. I was getting ready to buy the whole works, but someone on here (sorry, can't remember who) set me straight about the o-rings.

You're are normally correct if the breakaway is leaking only when tips are plugged in and it's the o-rings that tips fit into. But if it's any other of the o-rings leaking such as on the levers that turn the oil on/off or where the barrels slide out/in then a kit and complete dis-assembly is required.

These are the o-rings/backup washer that you referred to that it requires2 ea for each box.

R59343 O-RING, PACKING ADD 1.50 USD

This is the kit that requires dis-assembly AR82570
