Black rubber bungy cords/straps??

Anybody have an online source to order these things? I was fighting with a lacing cord on a pasture shelter canvas today and thinking how nice they'd be.

Thanks Hendrik. All I can find here is the ones with several cords inside that don't last so long and expensive. The ones I'm talking about are solid rubber and I've only seen them in the States. If you know of a source here, I'd appreciate it.

Dave, over here, we call them "tarp straps". They have a steel "S" shaped hook on each end, and are available in a variety of lengths.

I never thought about this till I read a article recently, lots of people get serious eye injuries from breaking bingie cords............ they are actulay trying to pass laws to stop making the ones with the metal hooks!

Can not tell you how many of them I have hooked, never thought about it hooking me back! Now I always think about it as I pull them tight and insure my vitals are not in harms way.

Hay Lou, I kinda missed Loooneys coments, for the past month. Must be he is a woodchuck, and waited 8 days longer so he was sure he could see his hansome shadow. "Can Woodchucks Chuck Wood?" Now he can go back to sleep for another 6 weeks.

I have used tarp straps for years for that type job. You have to check them once in awhile. If they start to show deterioration from weather or sun change them for a new one. Real simple fix.

Can you sell the excess if you buy an entire box of 50?

The company at the link offers free shipping. Doubt that would apply to your location but they might give a reasonable rate.

If you don't know the exact size you'd want look at what they list are rubber rope that you cut to length and then put the ends onto.

Thanks! I found another site and am trying to order a box of 50. Have to call them because of an address issue. If it doesn't work out, I'll check this site.

Just be careful with those darned things. My brother in law had two of'em hooked together,had one end hooked over the bed liner on his pickup and pulled too far. It snapped off the bed liner and hit him in the eye. The guy who was with him even hit the ground because he said it sounded like a .22 going off. It crushed his eyeball like an acordian. Took several surgeries to even begin to make it right.

These straps are the number 1 cause of eye injuries in the ER.My friend had his glasses broken when one let go.Some that are marked HPD rubber are fakes from china.The round colored one rot in sunlite.Use with caution.

And the main reason those tarp straps broke was #1 they got too old and deteriated or mainly #2 they were stretched out farther than they were intended to be when made. And number 2 is the main reason 90% of the time.
