can't open the link. It looks like you're trying to post a link from your email account. Cut-and-paste whatever you're trying to post on the forum.

Can you try to paste the link again? It may not work to copy the link from your email, you'll have to click on it first and copy the link on that page.

Is that the boil them first then slide the skin off method? If you have extra electricity or gas to burn it works ok, I found out I would rather peel em old school. Paul

I'm having issues, and have contacted the provider.

You take the raw potatoe, and cut a 1/4 inch deep cut around the center of the potatoe.

Then boil as usual, for 15 min. Yhen drop it in ice water and roll around a few seconds, and now just slip the ends off, and boil longer if needed.

I try to get perfect shaped potatoes, the odd shaped ones go for baked potatoes etc.

The skinnong tales only a few seconds after the boiling part, and you loose just a tiny bit of the heat that is stored in the potatoe.

sorry when i saw all that jiber jaber i thought you were joking i'm like the others i peel mine the old fasion way with a peeler. But you wait when we have company I'm going to throw your idea out there. Bored!! hell this is fun learn something new every day.

Potatoes are best baked and the skin eaten with a big lump of butter in it.The skin has much food value. The proper name for a single potato does not have an e on it.Dan Quale got much flak for spelling it wrong.I think I spelled his last name wrong, that should bring 100 more posts. My first grade teacher may come after me in my dreams with her hickory pointer.

I'd never thought that this could work for beets. I know I get pretty sick of peeling those suckers after a dozen quarts or so. Probably still end up with the stained hands though :) I'm definitely going to try that next fall.

For potatoes I leave the skins on until about this time of the year because by now mine are starting to sprout and wrinkle so bad. I cut a wide berth of peel off now, but June is only.... aw, nevermind it's still pretty far off :)

I always eat them with the skin, but when you make a potato salad for company,or mashed potatos, then I use this method.

As far as I'm concerned, that adds alot of good flavor to them.

Not to defend him, but Dan Quayle got a lot of jabs for using the cue cards that had been prepared for him by the grade school that he was visiting. He had nothing to do with it but take the blame. Has anybody seen the entire video of it, instead of just the edited version? (Seriously, what vice president would take their own personal time to prepare spelling cards?)
