I am in need of some ideas for our tractor show later this year. Organizers have given us more space in hopes we would do some tractor activities that people would enjoy watching and participating. I plan to do a "slow race." Any other thoughts?
 
The club I belong to preforms quite a few different things. Slow race, backwards race, obstacle course, barrel race ( both circling and pushing). There are afew others but these are the ones I can think of right now.
 
Driving skills can be fun.

1) Hook a log chain (15 to 20 ft or so) to the draw bar and the driver has to go back and forth and lay it into a 2 ft square. The square is easily built from a 1by 2 board.

2) Blind driver. Driver is blind folded and takes directions from a helper to get through a course.

others to add ,,quick start hand crank , quick start electric , standing on ground , run 360 around tractor before starting , ist one that goes 120 ft is winner ,, barrel race. pushing with front tire .. skillet toss for the gals in the audience always draws interest and applause
 
Place several small plastic buckets (Ice cream containters work good) in a row, 10 to 15 feet apart.

Give driver some large washers (twice the number of washers as there are buckets).

Driver straddles the buckets attemting to drop a washer in each bucket, turns around and drops washers on return.

Tractor must keep moving, cannot stop to drop washer.
 
Garden tractor/riding mower serpentine team race.
Just for laughs. Set up 4 or 5 stakes in a line, drivers must weave side to side around stakes through the course. One member drives the course towing a little red wagon. Partner rides wagon holding a bucket of water. Run the course, then switch positions. First driver usually a bit carefull, but rider gets wet anyway. Second driver makes quicker, sharper turns to get rider a bit wetter. At end second rider usually dumps remaining water over driver's head.

we place three 5 gallon buckets some 30 ft apart , hand the driver a bucket with 5 tennis bals ,who zizags thru, dropping balls in the bucket turns back thru for fastest time ,extra points added for each ball in bucket ..
