O.T. Olds minivan radiator drain plug

My DIL came out this afternoon to have me replace a window switch and do something with the wife. She came out to the shop and said that she had a coolant leak. I poured in some coolant and heard it hitting the floor. I looked underneath and it was coming out of the drain hole. I took a tool down to tighten it and found out it was missing. This is in a location that is almost impossible to see. I went mostly by feel. Has anyone heard of this problem before? My other son happened to be in town and was going to bring a plug and antifreeze home. Hopefully that is all that is wrong with it. Otherwise it could be the radiator.

Probably a stupid plastic plug, hopefully it can be put back in and nothing broke. I bet she didn't have much heat in the van lately.

Don't know about the Olds van but on the Olds cars that is a plastic plug that likes to pop out, on mine they glued the plug in and to drain you would have to take the lower hose off.

Pull the socket & replace it & the drain plug at the same time. The new one just snaps in. Put a new 7 lb pressure cap on and you won't have to worry about it again. The plastic can't stand the high pressure the factory uses. BTDT
