Just wondering, not counting real estate property, what is the most expensive thing you have seen sell at a farm auction? Probably for me, it would be a JD combine for $190,000.

Queen sized bed, frame, spring, mattress, like new. $2.00. First bid. My water bed had broke two days before. Let those that hate or don't understand auctions stay away. Leaves more for the rest of us.

I'm with you 100% I purchase stuff at every auction I go too. I hear the sad tales of everyting I want goes soooooo high...... Well then just go home dude, I think I might hang around a bit longer. Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you!

I can't imagine all the useless junk I would not have if it wasn't for auctions.........It is my way of getting even with my kids when I die.

The ones who cry about high prices at auctions are the ones who cry about every thing else as well.

Many times things bring more than they probably should, but unless it is your hand in the air, who has the problem?

I think the highest thing I have seen was a JD 8430 tractor with front duels, 10 hours, all the bells a whistles for just over $190,000. It was more than the guy had paid for it just before he decided to move to Costa Rica two years ago but they were on back order and there was two guys really wanting it.

Yep, never go to a sale "wanting" any thing other than a good deal. At every sale I go to there is one thing that always goes really stupid cheap, that's the only thing I am looking to buy.

Over heard a guy fuss'n cause the tractor he drove a few hours for went too high last winter. It was bought by a jockey I see at alot of sales. It was in Fastline a few weeks later for twice what it brought at the sale. I asked him about it later, said that he sold it the week Fastline came out for asking price.
