Around 8:30-9 this morning, secretary calls and said xxxx from the Department of Nuclear Safety was here for the 5 year audit on our (small) moisture/ density gauges.
After cleaning pea/poop outa my pants, went to meet her - kinda knowing our records weren't in the best order.
Could have told her I had a meeting - but have been told "that" when they come back, it's a more intesive audit. Oh,Oh - so tossed a coin.

2-2.5 hours later came out with a minor infraction but no fine - don't think she saw the streaks on my pants.

Don't know about them DOT investigations - but don't want to try one!

PS: Kindn't have enough snow to run a tractor.

AND THIS HAPPENED TODAY. Dang MLK day

Driller man backed into an ornemental light post.

SO, howd your day go?

Yeah that puts a driffen light on things, I have hit one mail box, and crunch the eaves spouting on a two story house.

Well... thought I'd go to the farm to sweep out a bin, but.. got a call that the road to the daycare center needed cindering. Then.. out of cinders so filled up at the county building. Then.. after coffee and good B.S. session out to the farm get started, blew breaker two times, long story short, got home at 4:00 fed dogs and horses, more snow on the way get up early tomorrow! Love central ILL!

Where you at in central Illinois - I'm just west of Peoria, IL.
Most people know it as east of billonthefarm!

Son had a DOT audit yesterday on his one-man,one-truck trucking company. He was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. His wife keeps detailed organized records and it still took 2 1/2 hours. Officer said if everyone kept records that well his job would be a lot easier. The squad car sat in son's yard the whole time in full view of the neighborhood so I wonder what the gossip is gonna be now! No infractions and officer said a little guy like him will probably not be bothered again. Jim

Jim, we had a Hyster finish roller drop a linkage pin on the shuttle bar and the operator ran over one of our density machines. The materials guy called in about the accident and in a very short time, a helicopter landed in the median, two suited up guys with geiger counters got out and basicly shut down the whole paving operation. They wouldn't even let the operator get his lunch bucket off of the roller.

And another incident - the materials guy, at the end of the day, always hung his badge on the density machine so he wouldn't misplace it. When they sent it in for testing, it set off a bunch of alarms for absorbed radiation for the operator.

And another training session for him too.

I'm hear in beloved central IL as well.
Don't mind it too much, other than the politics and some of their laws...
Nearest big town to me is Champaign
