adding hydraulic connections/control?

Hey folks,
When I installed the loader on my tractor, I used a bosch SB1 joystick setup that can be added to. Be nice to have a rear hydraulic hookup for borrowing the neighbor's dump trailer and the local coop's wood splitter. Trailer needs only single action and the splitter needs double. Can I just put the double action on and use it for both? Both kits have two hoses.

If your double action spoon has float position, no problem, if not you can plumb a return line to sump with a couple of hoses and a pair of couplings for use with the trailer. You will just have to couple and uncouple the pair when using the trailer.

When lowering single action trailor you SHOULD be able shut tractor off and lower trailor with no extra hoses. When trailor is down move valve control to neutral and restart tractor or you may only have to idle to drup trailor.

Woodsplitters need real strong hydraulics. You may want to check and see if your tractor will handle it.

Another thing that might be possible is to see if the dump box cylinder has a port on the other end with a cap on it. If it does, you could run another hose and use a standard double acting valve. Dave

Even if the PSI is high enough your cycle time might be slow. Log splitters use a two stage pump to speed up the movement of the ram when before it hits the log
