Got 8 inches of SNOW last nite { Central Iowa } and ...
I CAN"t put chains on this Wheel Horse { tires to close to fenders } so I builted a counter wt.
Does a good job ..

: on another Wheel Horse .. it has chains but working in garden .. It slips some...pulling what ever I'm useing at the time
<>
QUESTION : Would I get more traction .. putting windshield fluid in tires w/chains ... or .. make a set of duals for it ...
<>
THANKS for any advice you want to share ...

If you reverse the wheels on your tractor should give you enough clearance for your chains.
Just remove the wheel and spin it 180° and reinstall it. Hal

My 855 Deere is a 4x4, but I found that using a counterweight took enough weight off the front that whan the blade was at an angle, it pushed the frontend around too much. Wheel weights or fluid in the tires keeps the weight on the tire instead of on the frame. Duals work good for flotation, but in a garden, I thing a set of ag tires with wheel weights would be your best bet.

I have bar tirs on ..both tractors ... but I will agree putting a counter wt. on the back makes the front slid sideways .. w blade at an angle .. ..
I was thinking of duals for the garden work .. but I see from the response .. that's not the way to go .. so I will put wt. in the tires ...

THANKS for your help ...

I have a C111 Wheelhorse and I put chains on without a problem. But the chains fit TIGHT to the tire, held by bungi cords/straps. You might try this.

It will work with turf tires as long as you use chains and wheel weights. That's what I have. Been using that way for almost 40 years. Even plowing the garden. Hal

They can be removed, but its easier just to reverse the wheels. I have the left wheel reversed and I leave it that way since I don't use the mower on the tractor anymore. You can't see that in the picture. Hal

On my Deere 140, I used to keep the tiller on the back for extra weight. Wheelweights, and chains. Times I still had trouble with traction with front mounted snowblower.

the tires are oversize ... I can't even get my fingers .. between fenders and tires .. I did let some air out .. that helps ..
