What's for supper? Fresh sun fish the father in law caught. Some bass in there too. Sliced carrots fried in olive oil and a helping of yougart. Home made white cake for dessert.

Meatloaf and baked spuds. The kids and nephews are getting walleyes on Red and they are killing them on the west side of Milacs. But they seem to forget about dad and there favorite uncle.

Fried taters, 4 soft fried eggs, and 1/2 lb of bacon. Wife took Amtrack to Ca.sunday evening, to see aunt who is passing, and I am left to my own devices for a week. (No colestrol cops)

Coffee & Fig Neutons . Maybe a ham/cheese sandwich later , then top that off with a handful of pills before bed . God bless

I'm sure glad to see you calling it SUPPER, as it should be. I don't understand the city folk thinking of how they name their meals. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I was brought us knowing that breakfast was at sunrise or a little after, dinner was around noon, and supper was about dark. Lunch was served in the middle to late afternoon as usually some sort of cold cut sandwich, maybe some potato chips, and good cold drink brought to the field.

But what is for supper? Pork chops, pork and beans, lettuce salad, Schwan's corn on the cob. DOUG

I don't know but I better get something fast.My sugar is headed to the basement as I can feel hypoglycemia starting.A glass of orange juice will stop it I hope. Such is the life of a diabetic afflicted.

Left overs from last night - made a boiled dinner in the pressure cooker.
Small pork roast, potatoes, onions, carrots, rutabaga and big chunks of cabbage.
Tear off chunks of french bread to sop up the juice.

The loin from a yearling doe, seared in a cast iron skillet, in olive oil. Lots of seasoning such as onion and garlic. Then after searing place the loin and entire skillet in the oven and cover with mushrooms and broth. Mashed taters and green beans.

Snowing and cold but barbequed chicken sounded good. ( And tasted good )

Mmmmmm. Miss MN made venison pot roast in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, and onions. Oh and a couple homemade dinner rolls. And kool-aid. Some leftover Christmas candy for dessert.

I'm jealous, I had Hamburger helper and brussel sprouts! One good point of the day was I had left over fried crappie filets outa the fridge, cold fish isnt as bad as I had thought.

I like hamburger helper and I like brussel sprouts too. I had a can of Cambells chunky chicken noodle soup and a cold hotdog on rye bread with yellow mustard on it because I'm out of horse radish, dill pickles, and tobasco. True, its food substance, sort of, but its not hamburger helper and brussel sprouts, both of which I really like. You wanna trade? I'll trade you. I wonder where that yellow mustard came from. I don't even like yellow mustard. Maybe I'm in the wrong house? I better go look out the door, or ask those people over there. I wonder who they are and what they're doing here, and why they keep whispering and pointing at me. This don't even look like my computer.

Seriously though, chicken noodle, cold hotdog on rye. Not so nummy, but I'll live another day.

Y'know folks, I just read a lengthy post over in Tool Talk about how bad off we are.

Then I come over here and read about how blessed we are.

Ain't this a wonderful country???

I'll take those leftovers any day over an empty belly!!

And share them with anybody that knocks on my door!!

I currently have only one usable leg, but my home is payed for. I live in a 16X80 mobile home that is 32 years old. It keeps me warm and dry. I net less than $2000 a month. My bills are payed and the lights are on, my refrigerator is full, there is a cabinet full of canned goods, and my whole family is over weight. My children aren't collage graduates but all are are gainfully employed or stay at home mom's with children, and no criminal record or activities. I ate a plate of med rare cow and fresh corn and squash that was left over from last night. A big glass of fresh milk with a fresh home made roll with butter made from the cream we skimmed off the milk. Can I complain??? Sure when I see others in their big houses and new equipment and all the toys. Then I look and see the family's living in the shelters and the kids wrapped in rags trying to keep warm and the moms standing in line all day in the cold wind waiting to see a free clinic and she has a child young enough to be still wrapped and held to her breast. Watching as she turns her back to the driving rain and wind. I am blessed with wealth beyond measure. The man with the big house lost his job and is about to loose his house and everything else. The guy with the brand new equipment is about to have it re-possessed. The guy with all his toys had to go down and bail his boy out of jail. I am blessed. I can sleep next to the most beautiful woman in the world. She may not be to others but they don't see her through my eyes. Shes the woman that bore these children and stood beside me when we were prosperous and stands by me still today. Shes the one that deals with this one legged man and cares for me without complaint. Shes the one I can reach over and will always be there when I feel unsure in the middle of the night and reach across the bed for comfort. Could I complain? Oh yea. But I am blessed. Do I have to hide my faith? No. Can I speak my mind without fear of incarceration? Yes. Can I complain about the state of the nation? Yes. Can you feel free to express your opinion on this forum and not fear retribution? Yes. WE ARE BLESSED. If you don't think so look around the world. Do we need fear of loosing this? Yes. But we are blessed to have the freedom to fight for these rights. The mother standing in the cold is blessed with family if no more than her child and in this country there are the free clinics and people do care enough to help each other. Yes we are Blessed.

It was the wifey's birthday, and she loves Greek food. I made venison and beef meatballs with Feta cheese in them, spanakopita (kind of a pastry stuffed with spinach and cheese). Warm pita bread and cucumber-yogurt dipping sauce! I made too much as usual, so that will be my dinner and supper today as well.
