There ought to be a "Weather" section on here as it's such a major part of our lives.
I was just reading about heavy rain in Texas, and it got me to wondering about the Howells.
Must be they're out of communication when they're out there with the horses.
Hope all is well with them.

I'm in The Ft Worth area of Texas and it is COLD for N Texas(35) and raining. Its been raining all morning here. Supposed to clear of for tomorrow but still be cold till the end of the week. JJ

Well here in the western part of Pa. its been snowing constantly & wayyyy too cold (especially wind the wind) . Man where & when is spring coming ? I'm tired of being cooped up in the house . Anxious to get out & work in the yard & play with my tractors some . The motor quit in my woodstove so I can't get heat in my garage to be able to do anything . Sure miss being able to go with only a T shirt . God bless America .

Bob are you as boared with this weather here as I am? Been the same ol, same ol, now for the last month and a half. Little to no sun, snow flurries every day, but no accumulation. The weather forcasters tried to hype the storm a couple of days ago, but 3" is no big deal to me. I haven't even plowed the driveway this winter. The temp only varies a little, teens at night, 20s days. Guess I shouldn't complain, seams that many places this winter have suffered from uncommon and violent, weather. It's just another day here in paridise.Temp. 20F, average wind speed 9.7mph.,gusts up to 26mph., Bar. 29.76 and steady. Been light flurries all day and wind chill is at 9F. The Acg.

YES. Absolutely. Nothing really to complain about except the same old thing. Got over your way Tues. as we drove to almost Burlington VT and back.
Part of the problem is it started so early. Harvest was early, but I haven't turned a spoonful of soil as it's been too wet and/or too frozen. I was hopeful after out little thaw. And we really haven't had much total precip. in a while. But it was still just too wet!

Here in Missouri we are under a winter weather advisory till some time Tuesday they are calling for snow tonight a 40% chance then 80% on Monday and 100% Monday night. They say we will get 4 plus inches of it.

Depending on where you are in Tx, you're getting rain, rain mixed with sleet and or snow, sleet, snow, or sleet & snow.

We had been watching the weather at the farm and knew this was coming. We got all the animals taken care of on Saturday.

It started sleeting at the farm about 7:00 and wasn't letting up so we packed up and headed back to Dallas about 8:20.

Just west of Mt. Vernon on I-30, about 9:00, it changed to sleet mixed with large flakes of snow which was coming down hard and accumulating.

At Sulfur Springs, it was all snow. Still coming down pretty good and accumulating.

At Greenville it was rain/sleet/snow. By time we got back to Dallas it was rain. Creeks and ditches had lots of water so it had been coming down for a while.

Temp. is now about 32 - 34 and snowing steady and sticking. Cleaned about an inch off the vehicles just a few minutes ago.

Don't know if we'll be going to work in the morning.

Thanks for checking on us. As my Dad (who was from Indiana) would say "there's nothing more dangerous than a Texan on ice".

I hope you waved when you came through here. It is still snowing here at the house. It probably will all day. There goes my week.

Well Im not complaining about the weather here in SD. I live here because it is where my Greatgrandfather landed in this country over 100 years ago and im just too stupid to move. With that said, I woke up to below 0 temps and wont see 10 above. It snowing now and expect it to blow before 24 hours is up and below 0 weather all week. Guess Ill just stay at home with the wife and light the fireplace.

ps there are no bug and my garbage dont ever stink this time of year.

I hate to say too much and jinx's myself, but we have been having a fine and open winter here in south central Ontario. Only about 2" of fluffy white stuff, bright sunshine and temps around 25 F. Yesterday I changed a bearing on the stable cleaner transmission up on the end of a 40' slide shoot, and it wasn't to bad.I know we could be enjoying -20F and if you never have, brother that is cold! So no complaints here and January is almost half gone.

Nancy you got that right, was in Austin about 1960 when they had an ice & snow storm about 1/2 " of ice & 3/4" of snow. was a three ring circus on the highways around Austin. was the first snow they had in 18 years. Being from WV like an idot I went out, We don't pay much mind to a snow like that. Was lucky to get back with my life. I had no trouble but had to dodge all the other drivers. Stay in enjoy the snow. Now I just put another log on the fire & stay inside. Is the advantage of being retired.

Thanks for your concern Bob.

Nancy pretty much summed it all up.

Just stopped snowing big, wet flakes here in Hutchins, TX. located about 13 miles due south of Dallas on I45.

Should be very interesting here early tomorrow morning with ice on the roads.

Shame on you Nancy. The Rio Grande Valley IS in Texas (just because we are 500 miles south of you, don't forget us), and it's sunny, windy (out of the north, so no humidity) and currently at 4 PM it's 80 degrees. The rest of the week is supposed to get sort of ugly for us, lows in the high 30's and highs in the upper 50's to lower 60's and overcast. But, no rain expected.........and certainly no SNOW!

It is " 0 " here and light snow. This is the third winter in a row that we have had lot's of snow. The farm land didn't dry up from last year and here comes more moisture. Oh well!!!!

i'm in south central Tejas and we managed to get almost 2 inches of rain [which finally got the burn ban lifted for a couple days anyhow]
all the high winds that were predicted never happened...sposed to be cold next few days...other than that SOSDD
