Got a Tom Tom XL traffic edition for Christmas. Is there a better one? More interested in using it for farming than travel(marking rocks,tile holes,etc).TIA,bob
Got no response at Tools.Thought I would try here.

AFAIK, TomTom is primarily for travel, with pre-loaded maps and such.

Garmin makes a whole line of GPS units, one of which should be more suitable for your needs.

The Garmin Legend series, look more in an outdoors/ hunting/ hiking store for this type of handheld GPS. Calculate acres, etc.

I have a garmin etrex (hand held)that will mark the spot. You can find the spot again later and is very accurate. It can do a lot of things besides that. TomTom is for driving directions that talks to you.Garmin also makes one for driving directions. I like both the Garmin hand held and the tomtom.
