Difference in Delco Distrib Revisit.

I wrote Pertronix customer service to ask if a Ignitor 2 was going to be available for my Massey 65. Apparently there were several models of dizzys used and the big difference is the small bodied dizzys versus the larger bodied models. The Ig2 has more circuitry and is larger than the standard Ignitor. The IG2 will simply not fit in the space provided. Also mentioned was that other than the overload protection, the Ignitor was comparable to the Ignitor2 up to 5000 rpm.

This said, I ordered myself with the standard model and matching coil from this site. I hope installation is as easy as they say it is...

It is easy. I have installed several. Three on Allis-Chalmers G-262 power units on C-II Gleaner Combines. One on a mid-70's Ford 361 FE in a F-600.

Yes,pretty simple if you don"t panic over having to tear your distributor down to it"s basic components.

I had it completely apart during the rebuild and renewed the bushings, points, condensor, cap and rotor at that time. I'll let you know how it goes!
