I'm Sure I'm not by myself .Sure would like to see your pictures of the snow you guys and gals have in N.J/N.Y. East coast etc. I sure do feel sorry you guys that got dumped on.AND NO IT'S NOT BETTER YOU THEN ME TIME. !!!!.I hope the worst is over for ya, and NO FLOODING. Your pictures (if you have em) beats the news all to pieces.
Maybe the musical number that Larry did("let it snow ) was taken literally,so could be that's what brought this weather your way .lol.Was wondering about Jde from last years pictures he posted.
Any Way .If it's to much trouble. Don't take the risk of damage to you and the cameras.
Regards LOU.

got one out back of the house just south of Richmond , VA.

Hay Lou: I didn't get diddly squat here. What they consider a major snow emergency in the Cities, is just an inconvenience to us. Just another boaring winter day here, not worth taking a pic. of.

Well Lou, they were wrong, I was right on the border, got 6 inches, and 4 of it is blowing away. Not the 16-18 they had said. Wind is the problem now.

We got a 28MPH gust at 2:32 this afternoon. Average wind speed since Midnight 6.8 MPH. Gusts don't do much, it takes constant sustainable wind to make a wind turbine produce
electricity on a sustainable level.

Lou, I'm not a shutterbug, but I can give you a mental picture. Currently (11:15 PM)at the southern most point of New Jersey its 25 degrees, clear skys, wind NW at 22mph gusting to 36mph. Glad the wind is dropping out now. We had about 12" of snow yesterday and last night, with NNW wind 30mph to 50+mph. The snow is fine icy powder. Some places are bare and you can see the grass, the south sides of my buildings have have snow drifted up as high as 5 feet. Northern parts of the State got up to 35" of snow.
Seems like the wind just won't quit, been like that the whole month. I know you fellas have had your share of wind and snow too. I posted a link to the Texas Tower weather station buoy off the coast. It gives a log of wind direction, wind speed, gusts, wave height, etc. for the last 24 hours. Where the weather station buoy is now, there once was a USAF cold war radar platform. On January 15, 1961 14 USAF servicemen and 14 civilian contractors lost there lives when the tower collapsed. The high cost of freedom, God bless them. Google "Texas Tower No. 4" or "Old Shakey".
From the NOAA link, use your mouse to work your way up the coast to click and see the wind logs up north.

Say Guys. I really Really do appreciate the pic and descriptions. From what I could gather from the news it seemed like everybody on the east side of Wis,was up to their eyebrows in the white stuff. Wonder why the new gatherers insist the big snow hit everybody on the east coast, and no relief in sight. Tell me it's not another episode of "WAR OF THE WORLDS" every thing is made up for sensationalism. Hate to think that it's mostly fake news ,just to get funds for clean up etc. I do appreciate the responses and the pictures of the real stuff, So beautiful but deadly in some circumstances. Deaths from freezing, shoveling, stuck & buried in the drifts. Hope no one get the hit. THANKS SO MUCH !! REGARDS, LOU.

Lou whan i get time to go through my photos from yesterday and post time ill give you sumthing to look at. At moment we are trying to get sum fences up after one of our largest floods we have had. Half fences on home farm flatned. Water in through every shed and dairy cows didnt get milked last night cause creek was still up. Now the fun begians

Dident relize you were only getting gusts, its been blowing 20-30 mph steady since yesterday morning here. If you were to get sustained high winds how does that effect the wind mill? I should ask how fast is it ok for it to spin?

Downeast Maine, taken this morning.

We wound up with perhaps a bit more than a foot total, heavy wet stuff.

Temp has dropped to the low teens, top of the snow is drying out and blowing all over the place. Not much point in moving it right now, the wind'll just put it back...

Yes 6" enought to plow, mostly the drifts, the farther west you went the less they got. Here alot is blowing all over, so the drifts are a problem.

My snow insurance is still working, we've got about 4 inches on the ground and that should all turn to mud this weekend if the weather guesser is right about 41 degrees and rain on New Years Day.
This picture is from last year

Lou , where we are in central NJ , we got about 8 iches ,and some drifting, Many towns not far from us got 20 inches, I had said earlier in the day that we got 20 inches ,but Iwas watching the news and the drift outside my door , When I got out ther I realised we didnt get that much, South jersey got hit worse . The car in the picture belongs to a friend of my daughters, she left it there while she is off visiting relatives in Miami Florida, She made a wise decision, lol ... Larry

Just took this picture this morning, You can see were I had to trudge threw the snow next to the evergreen to bring the horses out.I Forgot the gas for my snowblower. I'll wait for the wind to stop, otherwise it drifts right back in by 4 pm. if I had cleared it this morning.

could you be able to purchase that farm from her and her son? now would be a good time to approach her. Im not trying to be nosy, Iwould just like to see you own that place, it looks just right for you , and if her son is a dud you might have a chance,

I dont know Larry, theres 4 kids and now its in a reverse mortage.?? probably worth a little less than a $500,000 _+. and I still have a mortage on my property. it is a nice little place 85 acres left, and the 20 stall horse barn. Id like to get it without the house, just the land and barns.lol

No, the red barn opposite were the silos are. In the old hay loff. I now store hay in 1/2 of the metal barn.

sorry, I didnt realise how much, Are your sure with the market the way it is now things have changed quite a bit, It is a shame that 4 kids could help the lady so she didnt reverse mortage it. The 4 kids together should have been able to help her. Some day maybe it will become available for you to purchase, I know by your pictures in the past you have invested a lot of energy into that place and you have a love for that land. I understand the feeling , I have the same feeling everytime Igo to the place in PA. It is a feeling that is hard to describe and not too many people understand it, thats why it is nice to realise there are other people with similar situations, thanks for listening.... Larry

Thanks Larry that means alot, After 21 years there those people dont even see what you just said, I hardly think.
