bought a factory tank heater for my 1960 2010 JD. came with everything needed.cant bolt it to anything with clamp & bolt supplied. nothing in the head to unplug to install nipple for top heater hose. any advise??

Their used to be a fitting that would go into the upper radiator hose, cut a hole in the hose and insert this nipple from the inside out and then slide a washer and nut on from the outside and tighten, NAPA used to have them. Some drill and tap for a fitting into the thermostat housing if its cast iron and thick enough for threads. Is there a by pass hose you can tee into? You might have to get creative to get the job done.

When you install a tank type heater in an engine, YOU DO NOT WANT THE OUTLET plumbed into the upper radiator hose. Normally you want the outlet to be in the lower radiator hose near the water pump OR in a fitting near where the lower radiator hose connects. The inlet to the tank heater is many time connected to the engine block drain.

If I get a little time in the next couple of days I'll take a photo of an easy way to make it all happen!
