Wife got a large button buck with her Trailbalzer-06 second day of rifle season. Cost me $200 for new plastic, and probably $300 of labor to fix it up.

Last nite my son got one with his Blazer-02. We were able to do a temporary patch up with parts left over from his last car-deer in March. am going to glue the turn signal housing tonite. Headlight assy left over got the car leagal. Going to have another new grille.

I'd prefer to do it with a rifle, however. Far cheaper!

Years ago I hunted pronghorn in Wyoming. The folks that put us up worked for the oil companies out there. They use old pump rod, about 1 1/4" chrome plated steel rod to fashion deer guards for their trucks. They could basically run anything over and just keep trucking. No damage.

Might be worth your while.

Yeah, good thought - lots of 4 wheeler types have deer guards on their trucks. Ambulance and police as well. Saw a Sherrif's car recently with gard wrapped down around the hood. Destroyed most of the front end, couldn't even get to engine till they torched off the guard.

You might have read on tool forum, my deer cost me $4000 and 3 weeks of aggravation. I want to send the DNR a bill for letting their animals run loose.

Spare tire mounted on the front of my old Ford P.U. has saved me some cash - more than once.

I bought another truck recently - trying to figure out how to adapt the cowcatcher to the "new" truck.

I saw a doe by the road ,,I slowed down ,but still hit her. I drove up and down the road looking in the ditches for her . Not to be found . I got out to check out truck , there she was impaled on my plow hitch ,lol

Son got one a few months ago- ran out from a corn field into his F250. Killed her dead, and can't find a mark on the truck. Not sure how that happened.

Coupla years ago, I got a 90-100 lb doe, with the license tag on my Isuzu NPR. New bumper would've cost $500. I kinda like the handlebar mustache look better than spendin 5 bills!

I have an '05 F350 and a friend called to my attention one day that there are $4000 worth of radiators, AC Condenser, auto trans cooler and turbo cooler units between the two frame horns. $900 for a cow killer front guard is a good investment. A week later it saved me $1100 score truck 1 buzzard 0.

Ray, Late posting this, Here in Texas most of us put Ranch Hand Front-end replacements, and HD Grill Guards on our trucks and SUV I have not seen a deer win in a head on hit with a Ford
F350 that has a Front end replacement (These are the Grill guard Bumper combo units) they weigh 400 to 600 lbs depending on who made it. Hope this helps

Watch your lawmakers. It's already illegal in NY and a few other states to leave the ball mount in your receiver because it defeats the crash protection built into the car that rear-ends you...

It won't be long before some self-proclaimed "conservative" lawmaker's kid's car gets flattened by one of your deer catchers when the drunken little ba$tard takes you head-on after staggering out of the bar, and deer catchers become illegal too.

Your fault because you "defeated" the crash protection (crumple zones) built into your vehicle.

Yup, you're supposed to let the deer hit you and destroy your vehicle.
