I have been monotoring the output of a 5K wind turbine erected this past spring at the Mintonye Elementary School in Laffayette. Does anyone know anything about this unit. It has produced 10,882.5 KWHs of electricity since it's commisioning. It was making 1203 watts at noon today, eastern time. There is a weather link on the web site but not interactive with the production data. Hoping someone could send a pic. of this turbine, and possably tell me about how fast the wind was blowing at that time. The weather link was predicting 21MPH winds and 20F Some real people data would be helpful, as we are looking at this unit to broaden our product offerings. e-mail is open
thanks for the help The Acg.

Loren I am 150 miles down south of there , ,, ButTHERE is a cold brisk 20 mile an hour wind coming out of the north right out of Canada . Making it DOWNRIGHT COLD for me and My cows and CASES .... and no doubt your windmill is in the middle of that breeze ..

I live about 45 miles SE of Lafayette, about 25 north of downtown Indy. I doubt that your turbine has had more than a moment of wind less than 20mph in the last 24 hours. We're currently getting gusts up to about 25, and what snow we've had is on the move. It's cold, visibility varies, and the side roads are a mess.

Thanks for the info. As of 9:40 here in NY that turbine made 22.4 KWHs of electricity since noon. Apparently the wind has settled as it is only making 688.0W at the moment, compaired to 1203W at noon.

That's where we live, it's been terribly windy here. Much more than normal if that helps. Winds from 25 to 35-40 for a few days with the cold weather blowing down. Not normally like that.

Acg, I found photos of them erecting the generator on <a href="http://www.tsc.k12.in.us/webpages/schools/www/index.cfm?pagetype=0&newsid=1762&dir=2">the school's website</a> (includes one of the finished project).
