Brrrr. Who forgot to shut the freezer door last night?? 0F here this morning in Central NY. Glad I have a heated shop to park the feeding equipment in. The girls are all fed and happy an I am in for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee.

Me too, breakfast and coffee now, all the anmials are feed. We had about 6 for the low this morning. J

We were unbearable yesterday morning, but the eves are dripping a little here in mid Michigan this morning. Just a short reprieve though I'm afraid. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be real bad.

Yesterday morning at 6am, when I started up the JD 9430 (which surprisingly starts well as we don't have means to plug it in) the onboard thermometer read 0F..

The Toledo and Detroit stations were both saying right around 8F..

It was great however to use the old joke "apparently there isn't a temperature.."

It personally felt warmer than the morning before, as our winds were calmer.

"Its always something." Mid 40's to low 50's here, but we're bracing for a "Pineapple Express"- stream of rain clouds that stretches all the way to Hawaii, and dumps rain on us. If it stalls, we get flooding, and have flood watches on for Sunday and Monday. Some are still recovering from the all-time record flood we had in 2007.

2 weeks ago, it got down to 11°F, and we weren't too fond of that, either.

It is soooooo cold up there cause you had Hilary Clinton for a Senator.

Aint no broad as cold as that skank.

72 here in central Texas today but very dry, oats I planted in sept are dying, still have some dry grass for cows but putting out lots of protein, if it is going to be dry I am thankful for the warm weather

Around Spokane, we had the snowiest November on record--about 28" and a couple of nights below Zero. Now it is about 40 degrees and the forecast is for it to stay warm for a week. We will probably lose all our snow cover. I hope it doesn't get way cold again after that.

I have a bucket in my yard that I use for a rain gauge. Yesterday it was empty and today there is over an inch of water in it. I suppose we got about an inch of snow last night too.

We expect snowy winters over here and they seldom bother us too much. 2008 was different--we had over 6 feet of accumulated snow. I even had to shovel off roofs that I worried might collapse, as some did around the area. Hope we never see that again!

Winter of '68 I was at WSU- too much snow to make it home on the coast for semester break, so went to my girlfriend's house at St. John (every cloud has a silver lining, you know). Spent a couple days with GF's dad and brother, shovelling snow off rooftops in town. Mostly old folks, all manner of goodies and hot chocolate at every house. I was a pretty good hand in those days, and it sure endeared me to the family- but unfortunately, not to her!

2008 was worse than 68-69. I was a senior in high school that year and we got about 15 snow days off. They decided to postpone graduation a week, after we had all sent out our announcements--that was a mess.

I have been to St. John a few times. Nice town. They have a history of great basketball teams. I don't know if St. John or Reardan has the most State B championships.

3 of my kids graduated from WSU. I went there a few times in my college years, but don't think I was ever sober. What a party school!
