OT Legit online job?

Is there such an animal out there? I am looking for some outside income. I was wondering if there was any online jobs, that a guy could do part-time, that is not multi-level marketing.

Thanks

Jeff Outwest

I haven't done it yet, but tutor.com will pay you to help kids with their homework online. I think they start at around 10 bucks per hour.

Several women do "medical transcribing" around here. Whatever that is. Think it is full-time for some and part time for some.

Working out of a home office isn't all that people imagine it to be. Voice of experience.

It will work well ONLY if you have the place totally to yourself during the time you're working. I do a good share of work out of a home office, and it was great while my wife was working full time and gone all day. Now she is semi-retired and cut back to 4 hours a day, and she drives me crazy. I'll be totally absorbed in working something out on my computer, and she'll walk into my office and start talking about painting one of the bathrooms or some such. Then she'll be on the telephone with one of her girlfriends for a half hour or more when I'd rather use the land line instead of my cell phone. Or when I'm on the phone talking to a client, she'll pick up the phone and start dialing without checking to see if I'm on the phone.

Some women look at tele-commuting and working out of a home office as a way to get out of paying child care. I can't even imagine trying to work out of a home office with young children in the house.

And, if you think it will be a cushy job--send the kids to day care, the hubby, or wife, to work, get a dedicated computer line, not a phone line like the one you use for your telephone, cover the down-stairs windows, and tell folks you are going to Alaska for the winter!
You can't use the same phone line that you get calls on. It doesn't work, because, as soon as you get into a long series of pages you are sending in to the job place, somebody will call you with the intention of gabbing about what they did last night, and then you will have to start the whole thing all over again! BT/DT!
This from an old Geezer, who early on said: I'll never buy one of those new-fangled cornputers, at my age!(60 at the time!)
Also, unless the job is set in stone, and you know who the work is being done for--do not bite on it! There are charlatans out there, just waiting for your name, address, phone number, SS number, and any other info you send them! And, its all "down-hill" from then on! Beware. And, go get a legitimate land based job. Those "Work from home" so-called jobs are just a fishing expedition to get info, so they can either steal, or load your computer with their tracking devices, or worse. Scammers are a tricky bunch! And, giving them their foot in your computer, is not what you want!

I'm in the technology business, I work from home often. I have numerous people who work for me, some fulltime at home workers, spread all around the country, and some once a week to save a commute.

I agree, it is not for all, and takes some focused effort and work ethics. However if you have that, and work for a ligitiment employer, it can be great. Saves travel expenses, (significant these days) and gives you back time you would have spent traveling for work, or personal time.

For those who do this fulltime, we pay for their connectivity, equiptment etc.. It is more than offset by the realestate they free up in the office by not having to have a place for them to sit.

Never have anybody who works at home call in that they cannot get to work in the snow or ice,,,, so they cover those events and make up for those who can't get here on time.

Well...you could get on one of those online stock trading sites and sit there and trade stocks all day. Only problem with that is,you only get paid if you're right.

My sister does her job, one day a week at home.

There are tutor and distance learning jobs.

I get a kick out of the complaints people have regarding people picking up a phone while business was occurring. You mean people in business still have land lines?

If you go into business you need:
24-7 computer connection-DSL, Cable or better
Business Cell Phone-
Room dedicated to business and only the business
Dedicated desk and chair, both need to be comfortable.
Dedicated printer/printers
All in one printer/fax/scanner

And maybe more.

Apparently you have a cell phone that has an absolutely perfect connection no matter where your are, every single time. If you do, I envy you.

There is one town where I frequently do business where the entire downtown area is in a dead zone for cell phones. If I need to make a call on my cell phone when I'm in town, I need to drive two miles up a hill west of town to a parking lot at a race track.

Call it out in the sticks if you want, but the money I make in that town spends just like everyone else's.

Goose,

I would be that your cell phone works better in that area than your land line.

If you are on the road, then you need to do some homework. Which cell phone company is the best? I use two, one for my personal phone and one for my village position. Mine is used for me and me alone, I have found very few dead spots. The village phone is a different carrier and it has fewer dead spots. I have yet to find a place where both are dead.

If you are trying a cell phone to check for dead zones, return it within a month and they should take it back with no problems.

Sure there are online jobs.....For You.

Just send in $20 to me and I will give you all the info you need to do.

Just $20 what a great deal.

There are a LOT OF DEAD ZONES for cell phones and including part of my kitchen. Would never be without the land line as long as they are avaible. And that is where the answering machine is and I do not have or want voice mail on my cell phone ever, have had words with the cell provider different times as they try to put something on me that I do not want.

I'd say yes. If you know how to do something there is a market for it online. As far as the offers out there to "work from home" forget it. That's what they are doing and as long as people send them money hoping to get rich for nothing it works. On the other hand if you don't know how to do anything and need to be told when to do it you better get a "real" job. Self employment ain't for everybody.

kimcommando.com is an excellent idea.
She and her staff are reliable, I'm impressed with them.
I may check into that myself, when I heal up a bit more.
Good idea, thanks.
