Winter is back...

I can't believe I just posted a picture the first week of November about doing 5th cutting in Central New York. Winter came in with a bang. Sorry for the picture quality, cell phone camera.

Thanks guys, it is actually an A with a 45 loader with brackets welded on the blade so I can take the bucket off and put the blade on.

Right now, here in Nebraska, the temp is in the mid 30's, sunny, windstill, and no snow.

HOWEVER, at this time last year we'd already had 8 weeks of snow.

I don"t know if you guys across the pond have heard but us in the UK are having one of the worst winters on record. it was -15 c the other night in South Yorkshire which is incredibly cold for us.Some areas have never had so much snow in December.

I am in Central New York too, and the last few days have been brutal...
We are at just about 30" since Sunday according to the radio.

Nothing here yet. It's Norht & South of us, but nothing here. Supposed to snow tomorrow night into Firday morning. We'll see how much we get out of it. I do want to test out my new to me Areins 1032 snowblower. Bought it for $550. Adjusted the belts, changed the oil, and put on a new scraper bar. Bought a clean out tool to mount on it because it didn't have one on it. Also bought some drift cutters as last winter the first storm we had I had a drift up to my a$$ 10' in front of the garage and 15' long.

We don't get a bad winter here compared to you folks, but had a nice frozen ground just enough to stop the mud and 3 or so inches of snow (temps 25-30). Warmed up to 35, rained and turned everything into a slurpee, then snowed about 3 inches last night. Just nasty......

Nobody else has said it yet, so I will:

"Global warming?" HAW HAW HAW!

Frankly I'm hoping for a winter like the ones I remember from my childhood... The snow starts dropping the day after Thanksgiving, and doesn't let up until Easter.

Thanks for the replies... Just rebuilt the engine over the summer and it will push some snow now. We usually get our 120 inches of snow every year, but we are close to 40 inches already.
