Pics of 2010 wheat harvest

We got harvesting our wheat on the weekend with our old case 600 it averaged 2 ton/ac which was a fairly good yeild we will use the grain to feed to the milkers. Made a good sample but throw a little out the back due to puting all the straw through so we could bale it and weather wasnt the best being overcast and damp eastly wind. Now its raining again as i post this. Used the 6206 deutz to cart the grain with an old truck thats been cut down an made into a trailer back to the silos where the fordson was on aurger duty. Then i baled the straw with the dx 6.30 and new holland 654 baler. The bales will be mixed with sum better hay and silage then feed to the dry cows. Also a couple pics of the neighbours harvesting with a jd and new holland

Nice pics. Never seen a Case combine around here, ( southern Michigan ). How old is that old sister?

Great pictures I have some of our L2 Gleaner shelling corn but I don't know how to post them. Do you have any of your farmstead, I think it is neat that we can see how people live on the other side of the world. I'm central USA.

Case made the 600 through the 60s i think dont no what year this one is. There was a few in our area but must are long gone now only a couple of use left with small old headers now. we are the only ones ruing cases now with the 600 and a 660 with a 2 row 40" corn front. we dont do much harvesting most crops are silage and what is left after we get enough silage we harvest. Will be 150ac of barley and wheat this year but barley is regrowth from hay we made and wont be a big yeild just an added bonus for this exeptionaly wet winter we had.

My dad sold a good number of 600s 660s a couple of 960s a couple of 1160s I was in my teens -20s when he sold them and I was the guy who did all the repairs on them. When he started selling them, they came in to Richfield Spa NY, on rail cars. We had to jack them up on the cars to reinstall the wheels and tires, fuel them, and then manover them off the rail cars at the feed store loading dock and then drive them back to our dealership 8.5 miles from the feed store. The Case combines and my dad had a good reputation and our sales area expanded to about a 50 mile radius. When the 600s were new there was no way to truck them here so we (I) drove them. They moved along at about 15-18MPH so it wasn't too bad a drive. I remember that on one deal he took in a MM Uni. It had loose stearing and went down the road at all of about 5MPH. I didn't think we would ever get back with it. It now sets in a hedge row about 5 miles from me. Every time I see it I think to myself "thats a good place for you" I have a lot of seat , service. and operating time in Case combines. Ps I started out as a little kid riding the grain bags down the bag chute of a Case F2 and then graduated to doing the bagging in a Case 77, befor the 600s came out.

yes thwt was sad looked better than ours could do with a nother one for parts we have 2 parts machines but have got most of the parts of them

Up here in central MI there were a lot of them. We had one just like the photo above (accept for the "custom" cab roof) We had duals on front and rear some years to get the soy beans out. Could run right in the water and not sink in the mud. Tough old combines. Had 10' grain head , 3 row corn head and white bean head. Still sets at the old farm . Dad let it go with farm when he sold it.

Great pics! 2010 harvest is just about done. Still a bit to come off out west. I'm coming past your place on Saturday, might give you a toot (the hill in the first pic is a bit of a give-away).

I knew some farmers from the Mackay Region and was under the impression it was mostly large cattle ranches.

You must be in the southern regions where there are NO Crocs.

Again if I am not mistaken the Brits came over and filmed in your area, the name of the show skips my memory, wait a minute, was it "Heartbeat"?

We used to live just northwest of Oakey,35 years ago (D@mn has it been that long). I checked out Google maps street view a while ago and it looks like several neighbors are no longer around. One was a real good farmer but his place appears vacant now. Kind of wonder what happened.
