O.T. The nerve of some people... (rant) revisited

A couple weeks ago I posted a message about the gall of a young man who tryed to get me and some others arrested for stealing firewood when we were making wood on my Uncles property. The wood was for my uncle who is experiencing some health problems. I thought that this was the hight of Gall.
I stand corrected.
Today this kid came to see me. apparently he went to visit my uncle in rehab to complain about us, and was told (in no uncertan tearms) that he would no longer be able to cut wood on the uncles property. He feels it is my fault for not informing him of my intentions first. Therefore, the least that I can do to make this up to him is allow him to cut wood from my pasture. And since he could never get his car down the trail to my woodlot, I'm going to have to cut the trees down, and drag them up into my yard (quarter mile) where he can get his car up to them. And could I please make sure that there is no manure on them or see to it that I don't drag them through any manure or mud.
I can't put my responce on here because there are not enough @@$%&^*(%^) characters on a keyboard to cover it. Needless to say, he was told that it's NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!

What! Your not going to cut and split the wood too? What's the matter with you? If you change your mind I could use some wood also LOL :>) Mike

Heck I wouldn't mind a little manure on mine. Let me know when you get it cut. Hard to believe you could turn down a deal like that.

An idiot like that could be more trouble down the road.

He's just another "the world owes my worthless butt a living" guy- there's millions of them now, in case you haven't noticed. Don't pay him no nevermind- just ban him from the property forever. And call the sheriff if he trespasses.

And its OK to repeat &^&$% characters, if you need to- so no excuse for not reading him off, in no uncertain terms.

How stupid is he ??______LOL

Bet he almost wanted ya to cut to length, and split it too .

Guess that's why they made babies cute--- so ya don't kill em before they grow up.

Seems like in his case they threw the best part away when he was born.

Guess it was a good thing you were not packing a gun when he said that. Oh yeah cut mine around 24 inches, split it and stack it by the road. Please cover it up with a tarp if I don't pick it up this weekend. DH

Next he will want to borrow your log splitter.
I would tell him to get lost and get a job. It's not your turn to watch him. Hal
PS: I have a neighbor and he's lived there going on 14 years and about the only time he ever spoke when he wanted to borrow my generator. His garage roof needed replacing probably 25 years ago. Most of the shingles or what's left of them blow over on me. All of the eaves and ends of the rafters are rotting away. Squirrels are living in his garage. I think when I sell this place sometime down the road I'm going to sell it to someone that wants to start a drug & alcohol rehab.

Tell this idiot that he can come and cut all the tree's he wants. It'll only cost him $200 an hour with a 4 hour minimum paid in advance. He'll also need to have his workers comp. paid up and a contractors license. I think this kid is the one that needs rehab. He's been smoking some really bad *hit and has completely fried his brain cells. Dave

I think your uncle's neighbor is unstable. I wouldn't want him around my place, and wouldn't turn my back on him if he was.

One dark night we had a guy making foul mouthed demands that I pull his car out of a ditch. He was on the porch, and trying to get in the house, but I had him latched out. Since I'd rushed to the door in my underwear, I headed back to the bedroom for more clothes and found my wife plugging shells into an old Mossburg 12 gauge. I told him he'd better leave before he had to deal with her and her shotgun.

He wisely decided to hit the road. . .

Hell hath no fury like Linda's wrath.

This kid sounds like a bi-polar case.
Maybe, get a log ready for him have him come near you and then drop it on his foot, real hard.
He might get the hint at that time, bodily damage is likely.

Cause if it was me that is the least he would get, maybe a shotgun put in his face or a cop paying him a visit.

I think I"d get the sheriff out there and file a complaint, so"s there"s a record on file when you have to toss his hiney off n" the place.

This thing ain"t going the to get better.

Ya sad that some people do not understand that if you give them a mile that that is it you get a mile not the whole 100 miles. I'd tell him so sorry but you better find wood some place else and then post the land and tell him if caught on the wrong side of the fence you will have him arrested

You have no sense of compassion. Cut him down a log and drag it up for him. But first take a nailing gun and sink about 200 16d nails in it at a 45 degree angle.

Gene

Shoot why waste the nail just weight it down in a creek for a couple weeks then drag it up to him. I know if he live in this great state of Misery in a couple week it would have some much snad in it a chain might get an inch at best plus would cost you nothing unless DNR found it that is. Or maybe just pull one out of the creek. I know right now I have hundreds of them

I'm usualy on the other side of the fence. I simply must wonder what has made a guy act like this, did he get beat every day of his childhood?

I'm not hear to defend his actions, and have no answers, other than be very carful around him.

At one point of my life, I would have sent him home with a split lip, but in my older years, I try to understand why someone acts like that.

Since I have been trying real hard, the cloudy water has cleared a few times after gettting in on the floor level of things.

That being said, you probably can't change him, but trying to get along may be your best option before someone gets hurt.

You and I both know the law will not protect you till they are forced to do a body count.

I have delt with many folks that no one can get along with, and have made several friends out of the doings. The best thing would be helping him move far away. If that isn't the case, you probably will never feel safe with him in your comunity.

I would bet if you hauled him a pickup load of wood to his house, it would be the cheapest, and best way to down size the problem. Even if you hired it done, I will bet it would be cheaper than the attorney fees before this is all said and done.

I have watched many Pi$$ing matches, one being my ex-wifes family) and after 39 years, there are no winners, just constant problems, and legal issues.

Results may differ, and once again,.... just be carefull.

Years back I had a situation like yours,I was cutting wood on my place and got stuck and waited a couple day's for ground to freeze to get truck out, then a few days later sheriff comes to my place, people who purchased woodland north of me said I was stealing wood.I showed the sheriff where line fence is,the owners didn't know where property line was,Sheriff said no problem.Go cook a steak and have few bears and forget the putz.Scott

Ya gotta admit that he was so absurd that he brought hummor to the day! There is not one soul in this world who would agree with him, well maybe one, somewhere.

My farm has a valley down the length of it. There is ground on the west side you have to go around the county road to get to it. When I was burning wood we would cut and split all of the dead falls in the pastures. We usually did this in the summer and we would just throw the wood in a pile back on the stump. Then as I needed to refill the wood shed I would just take the loader and go get it bucket full at a time.
Some one started stealing wood off of me. We never could catch them in the act. So after this going on for two years I came up with my own solution. I took several pieces of firewood and bored a one inch hole down into them. I made them about six inches deep. I then filled the hole up almost to the top with black powder. I then plugged the hole with small limb. Unless you looked real close it just looked like another knot. I then put them into the wood pile closest to the road. A few weeks later the wood disappeared. A week after that a garage just down the road burnt to the ground after the wood stove blew up. ?????? I never have had any other wood disappear since then.

If you would just cut, split, haul, and stack the wood in his yard for nothing I would say he might be easier to get along with. :)

(Sarcasm mode off)

No joke, the world is full of these type people these days. Alot of times they are burnt out on drugs after have'n stuff give'n to them the first 20 years. Real sad type to be around. Of all the ones I know, none have ever gotten it together enough to hold down a job and make anything out of their life. As a group they ain't worth much more than hog feed.

simple...smack him in the forehead with a 2# ball pien and feed his dumb a$$ to the catfish.

There are a few out there that think the world owes them something... This guy sounds like a real nutcase, I would have several form of self defense handy any time I had to deal with him.

Even though they took your wood, I think you could have pretty serious criminal charges brought against you for something like that. Dave

Thanks for the compliment Paul, I have been thinking about this since I first posted. You know, I can't count how many times I could have gotten even, or got in someones face for a justified reason. I chose the higher road, and have been so blessed. As stupid as it sounds, I have visited my first ex-wife and her husband often.

My second ex, and attorney...well lets just say the water will probably always be muddy.....and I am as much to blame as either one of them...I just don't forget, or forgive. Other than me being bull headed and doing so by choise, things probably would be alot better. So this is one of those do as I suggest rather than what I do--ordeals.

Now as I sit here posting @ 12:10, my neighbors dog is still barking his fool head off as he does 24/7. I could be a town hero if I kicked the crapola out of the darn dog, but instead, I will probably turn the radio up a bit more. But I however am still guilty of dreaming about parking the dozer on the dogs neck each night.

The responces often tell a story about a persons true personality, and a red flag goes up if you were to do business with them. I do feel it is only human nature to return a smack in the face to his idiot type of agressive neighbors though. And I would never rule the split lip option out either.

Drugs can not also be ruled out for his neighbors bad behavior either, and that is totaly another can of worms.

I am a teacher and a WAS a rental owner of a house. The stories I can tell. It just a systemic problem in our society-read entitlement. Thank you Lyndon Johnson and his GREAT SOCIETY movement

Actually I'd go the other way, he didn't get beat enough growing up.

As for giving him the firewood, it would be a wast of time. Next you'd her how you shorted him.

My wife being the insurance agent she is would not let anyone on our property using a chain saw, liability is to high. Especially someone you cannot turn to back on.

Just another thought on a bad situation.

Either has big brass balls or is a nutjob....Either case would be a better friend than enemy. Might be a good kid that just doesn't know any better.

Dave

They gotta PROVE it first...

I would dare bet the firewood thief is still scratching his head to this day as to what caused the fire... Small rural communities don't have the resources to do full CSI workups on every crime scene.

They probably didn't even consider it a crime scene, just a dumb hick that forgot to clean his chimney.
