That don't make you look like a clown......

I can't be the only one built like this... Been body building (and rearranging) over the years and am proportioned a liiiiittle bit different than I used to be.

5'9" 235 pounds
waist (where my belt fits) 40"
belly (where my belt USED to fit) 49"
inseam 30"

Would love to have some bibs but so far, anything I could get into belly wise, fit like something Bozo would wear to the point of being unsafe.

Anyone built close to that? If so, where do you get your bibs?

Thanks, Dave

Got mine at CLOWNS ARE US ! Got em in your size too along with the squeeky shoes that comes in handy when your in the pasture stepping on meadow muffins lol.

Very funny Louis............. At least I didn't ask where everyone was when grandma caught her t!t in the wringer..................

Dave, I generally buy my overalls a size bigger than I buy jeans. I wear 42x32 jeans so I get 44x32 overalls, hope that helps.

I am 5'10" and about 225# and I also have moved it around some plus leaving nearly 50# out on the side of the gravel road. I buy Key brand bibs at my local farm supply store (Bomgaars). My doctor told me last spring to get some exercise and lay off the beer or else. I didn't like or else, so my yellow lab Abby and I started walking. I have went from 278 to 225 in only 342 miles. When I started, I couldn't button any of the side buttons on my bibs, but now I keep one set buttoned all the time. I feel a lot better too.

ive been wearing 50-32's for many years ive never had any problem with them being loose and getting caught in a pto or anything, starting wearing bib overhauls when i drove trucks full time and got tired of a belt buckle beating my guts up from the trucks bouncing and vibration, now i wouldnt be without them unless im going out to dinner or something, a pocket for everything i can even carry my gun if i want to lol

well I was 235 and 5-10" nothing looked right or fit right,so I lost 40# and now the only problem I have is my hair is getting thin, got that little bald spot.think your going to have to loose that belly, and it aint easy.good luck

i try them on over my jeans in store usually buy waist size 4in or more larger and some inseams 1 in shorter. that way I can wear sweat shirt under them etc. I can allaways get waist to fit me but have trouble with length as don,t like front around my neck

Get a tailor to measure you, advise you on what size to get and tailor a pair or two. Seriously. The cost is minimal depending on what needs to be done $20-50 and the fit is Awesome!

Dave I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person with that problem! You'd think they would make them for guys well rounded, maybe we just need to find a pair and to he## with what people think :>) Mike

Once you get your size figured out , PLEASE don't go down to your local "CHINA" shop and buy their "brand" name junk. Big Mac , Liberty , Dickeys and most all are made in China. Look at the tags. THEN! Go to the web site for "Round House" Bib overalls. American made since late 1800,s in Shaunee , OK. Two pair shipped to your door for $27 each!! Same price as the China junk at TSC ~!!! Triple stitched and after only one washing are nice soft heavy denim. No I don't own stock. I just own their bibs and they speak for themselves. There's also another American producer in Tennessee. Can't recall the name but just punch in "American made bibs and jeans" and it should come up. If us rural types won't support our own then who will ???

I aint going to a fashion show.I wear overalls because they are comfortable and have big pockets.Liberty brand have a nice flap pocket and a zipper pocket on the bib that holds my revolver just fine.Few offer bib pockets that wont fill up with sawdust and hay chaff.

Liberty is the only brand that has covered bib pockets. You have a secure place for a cell phone and a Smith&Wesson.US producers think I dont need a secure bib pocket.Good place for a wallet or check book.

JD2ACWD,
I know losing it won't be easy because I cut down on the food tray and sugar. No pop, ocasional beer.

Quit smoking 2y - 2m ago gained 45 lost 30, gained 10 back and a belly.
Never smoked chesterfields but sure feels like one on my chest sometimes.

What did you do to lose the weight, besides the hair.

TomR ont,the reason I gained 40# was I quit smoking 3 packs of cigs a day and started eating everything in sight, the way I lost it was instead of eating 3 cheeseburgers at one meal and drinking a 12 pack of beer,I just had one cheeseburger and a six pack of beer!

Dave, I buy my bibs at Rural King. I once had an hour glass figure, now I'm a stop watch with legs. My brother is more like an egg with bird legs. Mom liked me more.

Your not alone. Im 5'6" and festivly plump. Or around 220. I have a heck Of a time findin jeans or bibs either one. They either fit my belly but the pants drag the ground or they fit my legs but the buttons are about to pop.

I wonder if a maternity shop would have any ?

I don't wear bibs , but I look like I'm due anytime now. LOL

Yep,that's why I wear,em. I call it my "lap-top" cause that's where all my important stuff is.

I'm not as filled out as you are but not far behind.Truthfully the last few years i feel more comfortable in bibs than belted pants, any way I have wore Carharts for the last 30 years or so. For many years I purchased them from Farm and Fleet. Now I get them when needed at the local Ranchers supply store. Most Bibs are sold in even lengths but I can get Carharts [USA made] in odd lengths such as 29" in seam which I like. Pay a little more but they last me a long time and I am so used to them I feel odd wearing pants with a belt.

I'm 5'11" and 170lbs. My daughter gets on me for my beer gut as I recently gave away 4 pair of nice 32 inch jeans in favor of some 34's.
I guess at 70 years young everything goes south.

Dave, I had a boss who was proportioned about like you, but heavier. One of the guys on our crew accused him of getting his clothes at Paducah Tent and Awning.

Good luck with your bibbies.

Paul

I have been wearing them for the last three or four years. Sure helps the scar in my belly not to have a belt buckle sticking into it. I have to try on any that I buy they very so much. I have went from 6'2" to 6' in the last three years due to my spine shrinking. Damned calcium loss. Fortunately weight went down from 275 to 250.

The name for what we have is called "Cabinet Makers Disease".....Thats when your CHEST falls into your DRAWERS. lol

Been doing the Roundhouse bibs for eight years. They seem to last me about four years. I get two new pair a year and keep one pair back for dress up/slip on. You know like going out to eat, weddings and such. I am close to being out of Oliver hats that are not grease coated though.
People really look up to men in pin striped Roundhouse bibs and a clean Oliver hat. I always get lots of big smiles and I see people out of the corner of my eye pointing me out to their spouses.
I know they are saying, you gotta get me a pair like that for Christmas. Feels good to make a fashion statement that others like.

I took my Mom to the ER two weeks ago tomorrow and the ER doctor walked in and said, who has horses? Must be roundhouse bibs and horses go together.

That, or he smelled what you stepped in on the way to the car.... Shouldn't let them things run around like dogs

Hope your Mom's OK.

Your stats fit me almost perfectly. Wish I had some bibs that fit almost perfectly as well. I get 46's, I think, and don't latch the side buttons. But I've mostly switched to jeans and suspenders. No belt at all. I've found you actually look better if you get 'em big enough to fit around your belly, rather than below (where you used to have your belt)- conceals my Dunlop spare tire better (Dunlop- where you're belly dun lopped over your belt).

Your results may vary- I don't have much of a pot belly, but big "love handles".

JD2ACWD.
I've cut down on almost everything, the cravings I'm still getting are not food related it's those damn smokes I want after the food I still want something.

You'd think the powers would make the Cigarettes Companies cut way back on the additives they put in them, before the Gov. makes it illegal to smoke everywhere. Might be easier for us old guys. They sure got their pound of flesh from them but not to help us
I was up to 2+ a day if not stressed, then one after the other, Never lit one off the last one so i wasn't a chain smoker.
